hey there People
I Wonder...what Bilstein front shocks is suitable for the 500e?

does these cut it?

Bilstein B8 Sprint 22-003652 ?

I have those on my silver car. A bit firmer than stock but still comfortable, IMO.

I like them but had to ream the mounting holes for 036 fasteners. Vehicle sat slightly higher then OEM Sachs.

New struts will generally raise the front ride height around 1/2 inch compared to old struts, due to the increased gas pressure. The pressure drops over time, and the ride height gradually decreases. I monitored the ride height in one of my cars after installing new struts and after about 5 years it lost the 1/2" again. The old struts may still function properly with the reduced pressure, or at least well enough. Something to keep in mind when fiddling with spring pads to tweak ride height.

I am on originals 3 nub pads and original front struts. I suspect I have dropped due to age, but no discernable wear issues or suspension faults. At some point I will replace, but to obtain the lower stance I prefer with new bits, I suppose if I go stock struts then a 1-2 nub pad will obtain the "look" I prefer now. Is that right thinking?

Adjust spring pads as needed to achieve your target ride height. If you plan to install new struts, mess with the spring pads AFTER installing the new struts. If you're leaving whatever struts are in there now, sure, try a 2-pt or 1-pt pad. Each pad point will change ride height (fender vs wheel center) maybe 1/4", give or take a mm or two.

well..i got two of these at hand...or they been for sale in the local adds here for quite a while..and when i now finally decided to send the guy an email...they were friggin sold."Doh"

but sent a request to the dealer of Bilstein here in Norway..and they were double the price on the ones listed in the sales adds...so...have to rethink the whole purchase.

They are quite cheap in the states it seems...what would be the best place to buy from in the states?when it comes to Bilstein...

I bought mine from www.rexbo.eu. Even with the crappy exchange rate NOK<-->EUR today, it was a lot cheaper than in Norway. They deduct the German VAT when shipping outside the EU.
