I rebuilt the search index, and this I think took care of the issue. Search was not working for me after I saw your post, and then after rebuilding the search index it worked nicely. Is search working for anyone, or is that part of the database issue?
Tapatalk is working on my phone for the new forum; I just got an alert to a new conversation from skikrazey. Works just fine now.I just logged in using Tapatalk on my phone, so it should be working. You need to search for and then add the new forum to your forum list on the app.
I don't know about search yet....haven't tried it.
There is no database issue with the site. If there were, it wouldn't be operating at all.
Another smilie working ... three added, hundreds more to go.....
Tapatalk functionality should now be working. I just landed less than one hour ago in Boston so hustled to get this taken care of right after I landed.
I was able to add the 500Eboard.co forum to my Tapatalk app on my phone, and then see the forums and threads here. Let me know if you have any issues.
Cheers,
Gerry
Gerry,Can you provide me with some examples of posts where photos with the (img) strings are not displaying?
...
Please post here for the record.I sent you some privately GVZ, do you want them posted here as well?

Funnily enough... if you search for WDBEA36E9NB786771 now, the only result is THIS thread!

When I rebuilt the search index last night, I got a database error, so the job didn't totally complete. It turns out this is a configuration issue with the MySQL database, so I have to go into the configuration file to tweak a couple of numbers (I could not do this with the old forum/hoster). This will allow things to complete, and I will plan to run another search index rebuild tonight. This should help get the "stock" XenForo search system in order. If I'm searching for a car based on the VIN.
For example: WDBEA36E9NB786771
From this thread:
FOR SALE - FS: 1992 500E, Bornite/Cream-Beige, 157kmi, $16k (Warrenton, VA) | Cars for Sale - 500E / E500 ONLY
ADMIN EDIT: Price reduced to $22k. See post #12 below. Thread title updated. ADMIN EDIT 2: Price drastically reduced to $16k BIN, per latest eBay auction. VIN: WDBEA36E9NB786771 https://www.ebay.com/itm/401713054565www.500eboard.co
This is the result:
No results found
If I search for the word "flipper"
I get a significant number of results. Where it would appear search is functioning properly.

Another item: Can image insertion be defaulted to thumbnails? The page load time was several MINUTES on this new thread due to a few dozen high-res images being inserted in-line:

It's going to take time for Google to re-index with the new site. I'm working on a redirection situation to redirect links from the old site URLs to this site's URLs. Again, one of many dozens of issues to work on.....and it's not like I have a lot of help on this stuff (not to mention a job and a life outside of the site)......I've noticed when old threads come up when searching outside the site in Google they no longer take you to said thread but the home page... Anyone else experience as much?
OK, I removed the domain re-direct from 500Eboard.com to this forum. This re-enabled the images to load where they are linked, to the proxy here. I'm hoping that this site will store them and then they will be available for future display.Pictures uploaded / attached by IPhone using the tapatalk app appear as RedX or broken links in my owner thread.
here is a link example: https://www.500eboard.co/forums/index.php?threads/owner-nocfn.7162/post-108726

The only downside is that the old forum will not automatically redirect to this site. I will have to change the DO NOT GO POSTAL message there to tell people manually to go to this site.
This stuff is complicated, but I guess being able to display images here from the old site (at least until they are proxied here) is more important....

I think I have successfully disabled this. Let me know if it needs more work.Gerry, is it possible to turn off the automated "enhanced URL" formatting? Any URL pasted gets this stuck ahead of it:
URL unfurl="true"
It's annoying, as it adds a mini-banner for some URL's, and shows an erroneous error for some valid URL's (like AutoTrader links). Removing the unfurl="true" fixes this.
Many pics are back now Gerry, thank you.
As I said, I un-forwarded the old 500Eboard.com domain. This allows the proxy server on this new forum, to go back to the old site and "fetch" imported images stored there, and then moves/stores them on this site going forward. I'm going to have to leave this un-forwarded for quite some time, until folks click on enough threads to proxy and store the images here.It is. "Some users" failed to update their bookmarks to the new site URL...
Dan
It can be, but more likely I will tweak the image settings so that these nasty type of high-res images are not able to be attached. That's some tweaking with the physical size as well as the file size. Maybe I can put a 3MB limit on images.Another item: Can image insertion be defaulted to thumbnails? The page load time was several MINUTES on this new thread due to a few dozen high-res images being inserted in-line:
SOLD - 1994 E500, Anthracite Grey/Grey, 135kmi, $25k (Long Beach, CA) | Cars for Sale - 500E / E500 ONLY
Gents, I am sad to say it is time for my beloved 500 to find a new home. I am the 3rd owner of this Anthracite Grey (172) car with Grey interior. The original owner was a lawyer in Beverly Hills, CA and the 2nd owner is currently a Judge at the Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance. I purchased this...www.500eboard.co
Worse yet, I don't see an easy way to fix it. When I edit the thread and try to change all to thumbnails, the thumbnails appear to insert below the full-size images.

I'm not sure what you mean. Can you explain further? My needs are simple...
I like to read the latest posts in the first position.
How can I achieve this?
Well, that's what happens when you LINK to things, rather than ATTACH things. We're working on ensuring that all of the old content makes it over, and are doing several things to make it happen. No content has been lost.oh my goodness..this was a massive change.Looks like an Apple APP now
Jokes aside...all pictures and videos are gone..at least in my owners thread..thats kinda shitty ...![]()
I'm sitting here at the bar at the airport in Newark, New Jersey......well..i thought photobucket would be sufficient?
Hello Guest !
We wanted to let you know about a new resource that is now available to all 500Eboard members. This is a comprehensive database of all US-market (and soon to include Canadian-market) 500E and E500 models delivered for the 1992 through 1994 model years.
Data for this resource has been compiled continuously since mid-2003, and much of this information is seeing the light of day for the very first time ever. This new resource will allow you to utilize 500Eboard research and resources to track specific cars, their sale history, documented modifications, and other information that has surfaced over the years.
We are also providing analytics about the cars' production. This means that if you are curious as to how many "Signal Red" cars were produced for the US market with a black interior, specifically in Model Year 1993, you can now easily find this information. You can also find aggregated information -- for example, how many "Black Pearl" cars were imported into the US over the three-year span.
You can always find and enjoy this resource by clicking here (bookmark the site for easy reference!), or by going to the “500Eboard Registry and VIN Database” sub-forum below. You can also find a VIN Database button at the top of your screen, for easy access.
We hope you enjoy this resource. A LOT of blood, sweat and tears over nearly 23 years have gone into its creation.
Cheers,
500Eboard Management
