CAN ANYONE HELP WITH THIS PART ?

Hi Everyone,

Whilst refitting the headliner, I came across this part laying in the floor well in front of one of the back seats.

Does anyone know what it is/where it goes?

I have a feeling it may have come from the roof cavity. I had great difficulty removing the headlining for the sunshine roof (it kept binding). I'm wondering if, having finally got it out, it tore this off the inside of the roof, and when I subsequently removed the main part of the headliner, it fell to the floor unnoticed.

The side with the arrow is shiny plastic; the two ends and the reverse are covered in an approx. 1 centimetre thick layer of very soft foam.

Any ideas?

Many thanks.

That's brilliant! Thanks for that. Of course, I had the B pillar trims off so I could get the headlining out. Must have missed it falling out at that time.

I did actually check the B pillars to see if there was anything there that matched, but couldn't see anything. I've now checked the car, and assuming it came from the leftside pillar (I found it in the left footwell), there is nothing like it on the right side. Some PO must have omitted to refit one on that side, on some previous occasion the trim was off!

Once again, many thanks.

(My relief is more than you can imagine. I didn't find the piece till I'd refitted the whole headlining, and I had visions of having to go through the removal/refitting again!).
