CD CHANGER ISSUE

Hi, I have a 93 and my cd changer does not work. I loaded the changer, turned on the head unit, hit mode and all that is visible is cassette or radio. I am pretty sure this is controlled by the mode switch but haven't used it in years! Is there a fuse I should check?

The owners manual does not even mention the stereo or changer.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks for the manual. everything is connected to the changer as well as on the back of the head unit but still the unit does not show a cd connected. To make matters worse, after reinstalling thw head unit im the dash, there is no sound at all from the radio a perfectly functioning becker radio with great sound is now mute.. The display is normal but no sound any thoughts on why the cd is not visible and what happened to the sound? The 3amp fuse in the changer is good

my cd changer has power but it refuses to read CDs. Should I assume it is finicky and does not read CD-Rs or it is toasted?

Try clean CD's (not CD-R) and see what happens. CD-R's don't always work well...
