Since the MB part is NLA (124 490 99 20)
What is/are a compatible replacement(s)?

I have seen the Magnaflow brand mentioned.. any preferences folks wanna share?

Best option: Find a good, rust-free used one for sale by a private party parting out a 400E/E420.

More expensive: Leistung full exhaust.

Cheap: Magnaflow, but it will require mods to get the 2 pieces connected.

Cheaper: Cut out the old and weld in generic replacements.

Can you elaborate on what exactly is wrong with your existing catalysts/pipe?

Indy said it was blocked.. but as I am learning it may be possible to clean out the existing one?
new to exhaust parts so learning as I go :)

HJS cats from Germany, if you want top of the line cats...but they are pricy. They are very common for high-end exotics and can handle a lot of abuse, but my car deserves the best and got the best. Can’t buy them directly from HJS, but Fabspeed Motorsport in Pennsylvania can get the core from HJS and weld on any end caps you want.

Having said that, these cats are not California Air Resources Board certified (CARB) and not EPA certified. But I passed my smog check in CA, just as long as the smog station does not raise your car to check the cats.

If the factory cars are actually blocked, I don't know any way to clean them.

Did he provide any details as to how he determined this? Only way I know is with an exhaust backpressure gauge, testing while driving under full load. Should be ±3psi max ahead of the cats.

:scratchchin:
