WANTED Cut of wiring harness for Becker Grand Prix 2000 / BE 1432 amps

What you are looking at is the plug-side of part # 124.820.10.89, which is the amplifier that sits in the right rear portion of the trunk for 1992 and 1993 500Es and 400Es. These are Becker 1432 equipped cars, and they use TWO of these amplifiers in the trunk.

I need 2x of the plugs that goes into this socket. I need the plugs + a couple inches of wire (so that I can solder new wire....)
Does anyone have parts cars that they can take this from? These can be found on 400Es, 500Es, and likely any w124 with option #757 (Becker Grand Prix 2000) and likely from R129s with the same setup. I would be much obliged.

In the grand scheme of things, I want to make two harnesses to take the output of my existing Becker amplifiers and run them through a de-equalizer to interface with an aftermarket amplifier. I wish to do this so as to not cut my existing wiring harness. Thanks.

Should be a pretty easy thing to get from someone. Unfortunately I only have the later style (BE1492 amps) plugs/wires for the amps available, which won't help you.

Do 1993-1993 s-class cars use these plugs as well?

That specific amplifier is only used on the 124 (see below screenshot of EPC looking up that part number) but I don't know if amplifiers on the 140 use the same plug. Do you have a part number for a w140 amplifier?

Update --- I do not think w140s use the same plug. I looked up the EPC for the w140, and you can see the two part numbers for the amplifiers in the trunk for a US marked 400SE: (item #104 in the drawing)

Then doing a google image search for those two part number yields something by bose that has more pins in the connector than the w124 unit.

I have never seen any W140 model use the same "separate" amps as the 124 does. Always seen the early 140s use the single black amp in the trunk, as Jlaa shows above.

Jlaa, I'll be visiting some 140s and both early and late 124s this weekend. If you need anything wiring related, just let me know.

Yes please! If you see the a pair of the connectors to the amps in a 124 that is equipped with option code #757 (Grand Prix 2000 Soundsystem Package) with a couple inches of wires still attached, I would be much obliged if you could chop 'em off for me!

@northNH has so very graciously posted me a pair here: https://www.500eboard.co/forums/ind...nal-amplifiers-and-speaker.13343/#post-185212 and I am sure that I am going to go through several sets of these connectors as I try to *make* a wiring harness to adapt the Becker 1432 system to use aftermarket amplication and speakers without cutting any original wires. One irritating aspect is that both input and output leads and to the Becker amplifiers all go through this connector .... there are not separate connectors for input and output and power.

Quite often I run across this wiring in junkyards, only to find that I can't get a couple inches of wire with the connectors because someone butchered all the wiring back there already, and left me with only, say, 0.5" of wire to work with. :fun:

Jlaa, do you also need some spare amps, to get the opposite/mating half of the connector...? That is if you want something plug+play!

Very forward thinking. ;-) I have 4 spare amps right now that I can harvest those connectors off of, on top of the 2 that are already in my car. My local pick'n'pull always wants $50 per amp, but so far I've always been able to talk them into taking $50 FOR THE PAIR since you need a pair per car. If I burn though all these parts, I will ask for more.

Thanks and happy BREXIT 1776 Day.
