Diffrential bearings+oil plug?

My diff is under overhauling in well know Mercedes specialist and he informed me that bearings have some wear. Bearings don't make any noise but there are some visible markings from wearing and he recommend that it would be clever to replace those. What do you think of replacing those bearings? Is it worth it?

I sent inquiry to local dealer for the bearings and I think if they are available the price may be high.
Does anybody know which company provided the OE bearings? SKF?
Or what bearings do you recommend to use?

Then diff oil plug. Xentry says that it is A186 997 00 32. MBCC says it is superceded by A000 997 62 32. Is that correct plug and exact same part?
Plan is to buy new parts and have them yellow plated before installation.

And for the last some pictures. Diff has been blasted with steel and rear cover with glass

Thanks

It looks like your diff had the pinion removed... eeeek. I hope the "specialist" knows what they are doing, it is NOT easy to R&R the pinion correctly. Since the pinion is out anyway, sure, might as well replace the bearings and hope they do it properly.

For the side/carrier bearings, I used Timken, they are not expensive. I don't recall who the OE manufacturer is. Timken LM806649 (cage with rollers) and LM806610 (outer race), these were made in France when I bought them in 2015. Cost each was $27 and $12 USD, respectively, in 2015.

Fill plug # 000-997-62-32 is correct, I think the only difference is the finish. IIRC it will have a gray anti-corrosion coating plus threadlock.

:duck:

Just end up the ordering Timken bearings. Made in USA & France. My diff has Timken side bearings. Small pinion bearing was made by Timken. Big pinion bearing was FAG.

Here are photos from new bearings if someone is looking for similar set.
