Yes. I confirm that the 143A and 150A alternators (with single B+ and D post-style terminals) will bolt on to the stock mounts. I have a 150A unit on my E500 right now, it's been there for about 4 years now. Works GREAT. Depending on the donor car, you may need to "re-clock" the housing to get the terminals in the proper position, but that's it. Do not get a later alternator (approx 2002-up) with dual B+ terminals and dual flat-blade voltage regulator connectors, those are not plug & play.

If they all have the same PN how can I get the proper one? I get my parts directly from MBZ dealer I have an account there so what car should I say this is for when ordering?
Thanks Gixx

Good question... I never buy new alternators. That will cost you $600-$1000 from the dealer! I always get used ones, usually under $100. They work fine... if you get a low-miles unit, there's no need for a rebuild. The main wear items are bearings and the voltage regulator. See photos below for a couple of samples. Also, please check out my spreadsheet, at this link http://www.w124performance.com/docs/mb/ ... nators.pdf, for part numbers & additional info.

You got a pic with the correct plug so I know I got the right one?

Here's a photo of the back side... you want an alternator with one large B+ terminal, and one small D+ terminal, as shown below:

OK thank!
I thought it had a plug style like my W107 but looks like its a post or eyelet type terminal.
Thanks again for the pics!
