I'm new here and I have to say: it is a great forum

There are a lot of different information about the E60 AMG Limited, something is confirmed something not.

The facts are:
- the last 500pcs of E500 that left the factory were E500 Limited
- available color (200pcs brillant-silver, 300pcs saphir-black), NOTHING ELSE!
- only 12pcs of the Limited (code 957 & 958) were built as E60 AMG Limited
- means, the E60 AMG Limited was only available in brillant-silver and saphir-black
- QUESTION: how many pcs of the 12 ever built where in brillant-silver and how many in saphir-black???

Sure, the E60 is not a Limited model, but I know, that the E500 Limited version were brought to AMG Affalterbach to made E60 AMG out of it.
About the number of 12 or 45 I will check with MB/AMG.

Hello Hr. Patrone,

Welcome to the forum.

There are some inaccuracies in some of the statements you are making as "fact".

• I believe there are more than 12 cars with the "957+958" codes.
• There are more than 500 E500 Limited models produced.
• While all E500 Limited models produced were model year 1994 or 1995 cars (facelifted models), they were not the final 500+ cars produced. In fact, there were plenty of "regular" E500s produced along with Limited models at the same time.

There is a LOT more data located in the Wiki entries pertaining to the color codes and production numbers, that will probably answer your questions.

According to MB data, there were 951 E500 Limited models produced (not 500) and 148 models with the AMG E60 package.

The Mercedes numbers also indicate that 45 cars had the "957+958" code numbers, indicating they are "E60 AMG Limited" models.

You are correct about the two colors only being available for the E500 Limited models. There were also only three interior (seat leather insert) color options available for the Limited models.

Yes, E500 Limited models do come up for sale occasionally, but they tend to have extremely high asking prices. We have a number of members here who own them.

Shame on me , I am (now was) still saying to people that there are only 500 cars produced ... I think this myth came from Evo II W201 cuz there actually were produced only 500 cars and MB put badge on shift knob.

Regarding E60 Limited , guy from UAE (owner of great collection of MB and E60 AMG limited) whom I visited told me that there are much more that 12 E60 AMG limiteds produced.

P.S. I talked to few guys at CNC event in MN and tried to explain them that this car is rare bla bla , limited production , Porsche made so on . I met them sometime later and guess what they told me ? "My God it is so rare car , we google it and found that only 12 cars been produced" LOL . My AMG badge + their conclusion on my story about limited production + wrong info online made them think I drive an ultra rare super expensive Mercedes

Yes, that's an original E60 AMG Limited with the specific equipment codes:
- 957 for E60 AMG
- 958 for Limited
- 009 color for Limited
- 288 grey Limited leather
- 786 including the EVO II in diamond cut finish for the Limited
- It appears to still have the special metal door sillplate covers for the Limited too, that's a bonus!
- But it doesn't have the 732 Birds Eye Mapel wood trim, which is significant for giving the feeling of sitting in a Limited, that's a big minus IMHO

The value of any type Limited depends a lot on the condition on the above mentioned equipment. An E60 AMG is of course more special due to the engine and mechanical set-up, but if the special Limited equipment is worn - especially the leather, or missing, the only option is aftermarket parts. In such case it brings down the value.

In case you don't know is any of the three Limited leather types NLA, but this is a good option:

Some of the 732 Birds Eye Maple wood trim panels are also NLA, especially some of the HVAC switch console panels. One of the dashboard trim is definitely NLA, left side inner list A 124 680 64 71, going from the steering stem over the HVAC panel towards the airbag. I have inquired for that over many years now, but MB doesn't open up for an order on it. I've almost a complete set of the 732 for my SuperMerc now, but have to re-veneer a regular panel/list to get it complete. This is the source I will use for that:

Besides these "Limited specific matters" comes the general inspection criteria for all 036 cars. But with an exstra focus on the E60 engine due to high cost for an overhaul.

There is a fixed number, just not 500 . Perhaps "Final Edition" would have been better suited .

E60s are far less, so should have been designated "Limited" instead.

Someone recently posted a build sheet for a custom AMG car that was allegedly 6.2L, but otherwise, no they only built 6.0L M119's and never installed anything larger.

Brabus did build a few E65's which had a 6.4L displacement (not sure why they didn't badge it E64... displacement was 6409cc).

Pretty sure that is not a Limited, the ETA connector is the pre-facelift style. Would need VIN to confirm.
