Exhaust mount to transmission W124 V8 cars PN? WTB

You guys are freaking me out with your part hoarding. I have zero extra parts for my car. Am I missing something? Trying to figure out where to start. Have yet to make it to my local pick-n-pull.

Primary items I'd recommend are the four CAN modules, plus EZL, and DM (that's all 6 total modules in the car). If you want exact 036-correct spares, or at least 036-equivalent, some of those may cost more. If you just want something functional for test purposes, you can get "incorrect" modules that will work for testing for possibly a lot less $$$.

Otherwise, it kinda depends what consumables you are worried about either going NLA, or priced to the moon. I'd pick up a spare set of new E500 Euro headlight lenses while you can, a bunch of people who bought the E500 lights + 500E lenses should have leftover facelift lenses for sale, but I've only seen a couple pairs pop up.

I wouldn't worry about oddball stuff like exhaust brackets unless you plan on losing yours. :D

It's a bit of a sickness caused by long-term ownership and love for these cars borne over years.

I typically see several types of owners:

  1. Long-term owner/enthusiasts who will never get rid of the car, ever, and drive them with regularity. These are dyed-in-the-wool E500E guys, and tend to be the parts hoarders.
  2. Collectors/speculators/concours folks who own and restore the car to immaculate condition, who are long-term owners and enthusiasts for the E500E. They typically daily-drive a different car.
  3. Hobbyist/German car enthusiasts who learn about/remember the car and want to own one for the experience, but are not true E500E model enthusiasts. They typically own the car for 2-4 years, but move on to something else, typically they go between MB models and BMWs, etc.
  4. Flippers/speculators who see a market opportunity in buying and selling a car after a year or less, thinking they can make 50-100% if they buy a car right. No enthusiasm for the model at all, though they know what it is. It's all business.
  5. Folks in Group 3 above, but who quickly realize the car doesn't fit their tastes, and so they sell it within a few months. They somehow think the E500E is some sort of AMG type performance car, which it is not.

Hmmm.. I wonder if I am 1 or 3? I guess if I go past 4 years I definitely turn into 1. I simply enjoy driving the car too much. I love how it flies under the radar and I get the rare thumbs up, Some guy owns an current model AMG E class wagon who I encounter on my commute some times and he always gives me a honk.

Definitely need those lenses. My left one has a crack.

I would put a "long-term owner" as someone who has owned their car for 5 years minimum, with 10+ years being more the norm.

There are quite a few guys on the forum who have owned their cars for 10-20 years.

I fit in catagory 1 for sure. This coming October 9th will be 13 years of proud ownership for me.
This is the best car I have ever owned. What could replace it that would have such a quality build?

I will say that I NEVER plan on selling BUT "Never say Never Again". Isn't that a Bond movie? Ha!

Until it happens, you never really know what may change your mind.
