Anyone seen the preview pics of the facelift W223 S-class that is coming?

Doesn't look too different than the last few S-class interations, styling-wise, to me.

MB seems rather stuck in the same design language the past 10 years or so, except they keep making the C, E and S-class models look more and more identical with every generation.

Camouflaged photos attached.

Yep, they said it will have 4WS. I think up to 4.5 degrees or 10 degrees, per the press release. Not AI slop (for once!).

Of course, Japanese were doing this back in the early 1990s, if I remember correctly, as an option on the Honda Prelude?

It was actually the late 80's with the Gen 3 prelude. I can't say I was a huge fan of W221 S class (looks wise). The W209 CLK was not bad looking but I prefer the W208.

And let's not forget AWS was also used on Mazda's MX-6 from 1992 -

"One of the unique features of the MX-6 was the electronically controlled four-wheel steering. The system determined the correct amount of rear steer from the attitude of the front wheels using a front/rear steering ratio that was optimized according to road speed. At higher speed it worked to make the handling more neutral, while at lower speeds it aided maneuverability and reduced the turning circle.

Later, in 1994, Mazda also released a model with two-wheel steering
."

Seems the previous generation (named 'MX-6' only for USA/AUS) of 626-Coupé had it too..
