Hi,
Can you give me an opinion to a semi slick tires:
Federal 595RS-R (click)
It is product from Taiwan, I seen some opinion of cars like subaru, toyota, honda. Product is considered as an good alternative to toyo 888.Have you heard about it? I have spoke to one guy driving it on the 911 Carrera4 (MY1992) - in general positive feelings.

Other options
Yokohama Advan Neove AD08
Toyo 888
Toyo R1 - street + rain - more universal than other

Size I need 235 45 17

Dunlops, Michelisn or Bridgestones - are too crazy expensive.

It is not suitable for our heavy high performance saloons.

A friend tried it on the 500E and he didn't have traction ! The tyres have low load index as well which makes them flex too much and wear quickly.

Hi 195910

I checked the index: 94W - the same as for Toyo 888. For front wheels 235mm - is reasonable, 245/45 - are hard to get.

Any other recommendation you can make?

235/45/17 is not correct for the 500E. Must use 245/45/17 on 8.25 to 8.5 J wheels.

Load index 95-97.

How about Hankook V12 & Kumho SPT.. Both budget but good quality.

Yes I know 245 45 17 - is the best one.

Some of them I have not considered - I have to check more about those. They look reasonable but less like semi slick.

Hankook V12 (235 45 17) - 120-130$ - on stock / 245 45 17 - 150 - 160$
Kumho SPT 110$ or 145$

Nitto NT01 - look ok, look semi slick and in size 245 45 17 - costs are still very ok 190-200$, load is 95.

have you tested it?
I have to see where to get it in Europe and see some tests.

Thanks a lot for tips.

I'm guessing you meant me? JAFO is my user title. ;)

Unfortunately, I haven't ran a set of NT01 tires on my car just yet. I was planing to try them last week on a road course track, but that didn't happen.

These tires have received good results from many drivers on many tracks. While at the track last week, just about every 911 and M3 I saw were running NT01 tires as well as a mix of Evo's and American muscle.

Try these guys in Europe, maybe they have a distributor close to you - http://nittotireseurope.com

szvook - my mistake :) Nitto - no dealer in my country. I have to look in Germany and UK for it.
gsxr - nice reading.

I asked one user of Federal 595rs driving 928 having experiance also with Toyo 888 on his car - in his opinion 595rs are like 888 with grip but more durable.
