Hi All,

I have a complete set and several other items of original perfect condition w124 burlwood trim. Not all items are E500E specific but suitable for all w124's.

I am referring to original perfect condition unfaded/ uncracked wood trim for the ashtrays, centre consoles, cubby box roller lid wood and door wood strips.

Is there any interest on here for me to list all items available?

Note that trims I have will be Euro spec in terms of the A/C controls, some with no A/C option, manual and auto transmission burl types but none with seat heaters.

This picture is an example of a set I took from my current parts car prior to the wood being hand polished / restored by me

Example pricing is £100 for a set of 4x burlwood door trims and £58 for a complete burlwood ashtray. The other trims are priced per spec of the item. All wood is akin to factory fresh and does not require any restoration at all.

Not one with the seat heater switches no. I will now post a picture showing my current stock. I say current stock because I do break w124’s myself and also have access to parts yards. The burlwood here is usually in good condition and never sun baked.

OK so these are the spares I have currently prior to polishing. Please study the items carefully to see if they are suitable. Note that the centre wood piece and dash wood trims are not E500E specific as those cars tend to have more switches and seat heaters for example. The Parchment cubby box is for sale complete at £90.

What follows now is pictures of previous used MB Burlwood that I re-polished up for my own cars. These are original parts again – not refinished just hand polished which takes an hour or two per item to do.

Note that these items will take me a week or two to have ready for sale. This was just a feeler thread to see if there was general interest on the board and it seems like there is enough for me to restore the wood.

Depending on the specific condition of the piece these are general guides on the prices. (Items with known small marks / chips or very minor cracks will be pointed out and offered slightly cheaper)

4x Door trims for any model w124: £100 for the set of 4

1x Burlwood Ashtray complete: £58
1x Burlwood centre lower gearshift wood: £75

1x Burlwood Centre A/C Trim: £68
1x Burlwood RHD w124 facelift dashboard wood trim set: £50

These prices offer fair value IMO given the rarity of this condition factory wood and the time taken to hand polish each item. If they do not sell they will be in my hoard for years to come. I do regularly add more wood trim also.

One burlwood ashtray was restored and sent to a board member last week:

If anyone is interested in any of the original burlwood trim pictured please PM me. I will restore the trim as and when people are interested in a particular piece. (Too many projects means it will be a while before I start restoring the wood if there is no immediate interest )

Thank you again Joe. Looks perfect in my 500E, right at home!

2nd ashtray here is gone. I'll try to get more burl ashtrays in the near future :)
