• Hi Guest !

    Welcome to the 500Eboard forum.

Since its founding in late 2008, 500Eboard has become the leading resource on the Internet for all things related to the Mercedes-Benz 500E and E500. In recent years, we have also expanded to include the 400E and E420 models, which are directly related to the 500E/E500.

We invite you to browse and take advantage of the information and resources here on the site. Uncle Kent diagnoses a shiftless W124 tranny

I agree that for the most part he repeats himself and rehashes topics a LOT, mostly to sell you some finagled tool to justify the "fix", but I must admit that he has a wealth of hard earned knowledge and especially when I started wrenching on Benzes I learnt a ton from his videos. Especially the earlier longer videos are gold. One that jumps to mind is the W116 tail light gasket replacement, excellent and thorough.

Definetly agree on that "product sales thing", but i see it like this : Where is the harm ? Nowhere to be found. He does supply the community with a service, And to buy any of his kits,or manuals,or whatever is up to each and everyone. So its a win win. There is nothing wrong with that as far as im concerned.
With that said,i love the fact that he even bothers at his age,so i think he deserves more positive notes, than just criticism for providing an optional service that costs money .
And yes, many of the older videos are pure gold 🤩
I enjoy the videoes .i just wish he did even more 124/210/201 stuff 🤩

Kent is great with what he does. I remember learning so much more about things with the new owner of 126 as his stuff was new and fresh at the time. I also learned by doing, but his vids were great and then the help from others BTDT commentary on BW and then here where things were organized and personal over snarky crap (moderated) and what an upgrade... This is a well run forum and thanks to Gerry, GSXR Klink and all contributors not mentioned and those who have passed away. The community of support is fantastic - thanks to all!
