    Welcome to the 500Eboard forum.

Since its founding in late 2008, 500Eboard has become the leading resource on the Internet for all things related to the Mercedes-Benz 500E and E500. In recent years, we have also expanded to include the 400E and E420 models, which are directly related to the 500E/E500.

We invite you to browse and take advantage of the information and resources here on the site. If you find helpful information, please register for full membership, and you'll find even more resources available. Tasos Diagnoses Cooling Issue on 1994 E500

TLDW: Some numpty installed the wrong fan blade, which was pushing air forward instead of pulling it backward (toward the engine).

BTW, this is a Limited with Green interior, WDB1240361C183090 (datacard). Although originally delivered to Germany, it has LHT headlight lenses and may have been in Japan at some point (or, another country with LHT).

Negatory**.

That sub-forum is generally designated for “web magazine” types of videos (i.e. magazine type articles and reviews, in video form) not random 500E related videos out there. There’s a difference.

That sub-forum was created because people kept putting videos in the “E500E Press Articles” sub-forum, which is and always has been strictly reserved for printed magazine articles that are scanned as PDF documents, to create a permanent record of all known print articles about the E500E.

The advent of web videos by reviewers, magazines and other organizations (Hagerty, etc.) sort of necessitated a place to link to them. Also, these links often go off-line in time, whereas the PDF attachments in the Press Articles sub-forum are permanent.

**Negatory comes from the Latin word "negatorius," which means "to deny."

TLDW, Part 2:

The aforementioned numpty installed a fan blade from an M116. Tasos seems confused about the cut-down bolt, but he should know the skinny aftermarket clutches require a shorter bolt.

Actually, this fan was used in a pretty wide range of M116 and M117 applications:

With all of those engines using up to five V-belts in different planes, everything (of course) was turning in the same direction, unlike the single, serpentine belt as used in the M119.
