Hi All,

I have one but keeps jumping out of reverse into park!? Pretty embarrasing when parking up!

So if anyone has one, i want to buy another please!

Silly wuestion but have you checked the condition of the shifter bushings and checked / re-set the adjustment of the linkage?

Yes i checked that...

the car was fine with the normal valve chest. I swapped out for a FGS one last year. It started doing it immediately.

It will engage reverse fine, but then without warning, slams into park. Sometimes immediately, sometimes not.

Im not totally familiar with the inner workings of a valve chest but to me there is a weak spring or such? worst case, I could have it rebuilt, but that means car off the road for X days and more time...

So id prefer just to swap it for a working one if possible.

I'd start by removing each side plate from the VB and inspecting for broken springs or stuck pistons.

Did the car drive OK otherwise, and all forward gear selections were normal? Only issue was related to reverse gear?

Yes perfect in all forward gears...

Car drove perfect before i swapped the 2nd gear start to 1st gear.

I think like you say, got to be a sticky piston or something....

If no one has a working valve chest, ill just pull it out and take a look.

Jay, have you been driving with the faulty FGS VB since last summer?

😲
