Spoke with the seller this morning. He said he bought it wholesale as a personal vehicle yesterday, however, for the right price he would sell. He had not yet come up with a price and thought around $20,000 would be a fair starting point. Claimed it to be a "clean" car.
I then called the whole seller that sold him the car. He said that this guy will make a good profit...

Trae, I did not contact the seller... all I know is there's no price listed in the AutoTrader ad. $20k seems on the high side unless it's immaculate. Wonder what the wholesaler let it go for.

Spoke to Dave on Saturday, he wants $26,900 and has ZERO maintenance records for the car. When I asked about them, he stated that "privacy laws" prevented him from getting them from the dealer he purchased the car from. That was a new one for me.

I know the MB dealers no longer will give you the VMI report due to privacy concerns, and some dealers or repair shops don't like to give out previous records if the owner's contact information is on the paperwork. But even that is kind of a weak excuse, permission could be granted by the PO's, or the info could be removed from the docs before copying, etc, etc. Price seems very high with zero documentation, IMO.

At least Hatch & Sons puts up more than 3 crappy pictures. For $26,900 I would expect to see at least 40-50 hi-res, in focus pics.

I encountered the same problem when trying to obtain additional records for my previous 93 from the dealership. The only way they would release them was with the previous owners authority. They also stated that some of the records were destroyed when they transfered from paper to electronic if there were no inquiries within a certain time frame..
