Google translate:

In stock at Auto Leitner truly as good as new W124 500E. Original 41 513 km, but looks, feels and smells like a copy by 4,000 km. I say not a word too much. Mercedes has all along; one of the last of the first series (built in 1993), in my opinion the finest available color for W124: 122 Perlmuttgrau metallic and has the appropriate options as 412 electric slide / tilt sunroof, 241/242 electrically adjustable front seats with memory, 540 electric awning and 810 Bose sound system. It is an original German car first owner detectable (born 09/01/1923), after six years in possession of Mercedes-Benz Classic Unterturkheim. Since this copy has mainly been based in a "air bag" and is also used in the museum. In 2012 Auto Leitner sold to a collector in the Netherlands. A1 quality from front to back, from top to bottom. Good investment.

It looks very nice, but €100k (~$110k USD) is crazy money for a stock 500E with 40kkm/25kmi. Yikes.

:duck:

If anyone is going to pay top dollar for one of these I won't be surprised it's someone from Europe. Very high demand for German cars....especially in top condition. The weather forces over there have not been kind to old cars...thats why so many american 911's have been bought and shipped over there in the past.

Now the buying demographic is shifting to 1980-2000 cars....so most likely buckle your seatbelt for continued rising prices....for better and worse...

me being new to E500E ownership and just going back and reviewing prices from 2-3 years ago....huge jump.

I'll put my 122 Perlmuttgrau Metallic over grau up at a 50% discount of the one listed for sale if anyone is interested.

However, the one in The Netherlands is beautiful looking with the black interior!

I was ogling over the nice photography of the one for sale and noticed that it didn't have a pinstripe running along its flanks. Did they originally come with pinstripes? Or has the previous owner of my car add them?

I love the perlmttgrau color --- it fits the car's lines so well.
My car does not have pinstripes.

Stripes were never original...this is a terrible us fashion...buäääää.....as chromed wheels and cupholders....brrrr.....
And yes, Leitner is extremely expensive....Couple of years he bought an 500E with 21 Kkm from Germancars.net for 40KEuro and sold it for 65....

There's no accounting for taste... mine has stripes and I love them. They accentuate the high belt line of the car (from the top corner of the front corner light) and its angular strength. They also help keep the doors aligned (by showing when they aren't), which I've found helpful on older Benzes. Whenever I see these older Benzes seeking high money with the doors misaligned, I just shake my head. This is one of the few in recent years I've seen where the doors were not misaligned. Pinstripes don't let you get away with it.

maw

That's a seriously beautiful car and color combo. Looks like he used a professional photographer.

€100K is a pretty steep price to pay. It boils down to what someone is willing to pay.
"Beauty is in the Eyes of the Beholder"

It sure wouldn't hurt E500E values if he got close to his asking price.

You guys are all caught up on the amazing exterior/interior color combination, but seems to me that you missed the best color option on this car:

Are referring to the blue tool roll vs the red? It is my understanding that the change from red to blue occurred in 1996/7 so technically this car has a period incorrect roll color.
