Sooo,

Sotheby’s has two 124s this limited and the E60? Both look similar w/the Neese wheels. Somebody must be letting go of thier collection. Maybe Roven knows about both of them

The E60 conversion has 18" Neez, or something that looks a lot like them.

I think this Limited has the original 17" Evos.

:strawberry:

Thanks Arnt, I will have to let this pass lol. I missing already one of my kidneys which I sold for my '92 dtm transmission and carbon driveshaft these days. Once the missing one has regrown then maybe. However, seriously I would take one of the wide body SEC instead.

The Limited has standard 17" wheels in it.

Realy? I thought it was an option, as wooden trim too...( 732 BIRDSEYE MAPLE WOOD TRIM, BLACK)
In FIN i read 658 LIGHT ALLOY WHEELS EVO-DESIGN.... maybe on swiss cars it was standard? Not in Gernany.

What he means is that this Limited has the “standard MB branded 17” Evo wheels” as opposed to “NEEZ branded 18” wheels.”

Both 16x8 eight-hole and 17x8.25 Evo wheels were available on the Limited. MB documentation I've seen isn't clear, I don't know which was "standard equipment" and which was "optional". Seems the BEM wood was standard, but you could optionally get Burled Walnut instead. I always thought the Evo wheels were standard, with the 16" stockies optionally available for anyone who thought the Evos were gauche. However, the presence of an option code in the datacard does not necessarily mean that particular item wasn't "standard equipment".

:stirthepot:

Anyone like to hazard a guess on what size tyres this Limited is running on? I run my E500 with 8.25x17 EVO's, and 245X45 tyres. From the front view pics of this Limited, the tyres look somewhat "fatter/wider" than mine. Is it possible to realistically have anything wider than 245's on an 8.25 rim?

Some tire mfr's are showing 255/45/17 tires with an approved rim width between 8.0-9.5 inches, so at least based on tire mfr's recommendations, you could go 10mm wider in section width.

:burnout:

The Evo wheels came as standard. However it was possible to get the car with 16"wheels.
The "limited package" contains also the SA codes for the wheels and bem wood. Means at a 958 code car, code 732 and 658 comes automatically if not otherwise "de-selected" at the order.

That is what I thought - thanks for confirming!
