My Father was a long time Mercedes/Porsche Mechanic who recently passed away with a few projects unfinished. One of them was his personal 91 300TE which he was in the process of swapping a M119 into. Since his passing I am attempting to clean up the shop and sell some of his projects, and while I wish I didn't, this is one that has to go.
What I know about the car.
-- Full AMG Bodykit and Euro lights fitted when car was new by first owner.
-- Our Family is the second owner of the car, and we have owned it since 1996.
-- Was my Father's Daily Driver for about 10 years. Maintained at his workshop the whole time.
-- in 2005 Car was parked due to blown head-gasket, and a complete 500e (salvage) was sourced for parts.
About the Swap
-- I know that he swapped quite a bit of the running gear over along with the engine.
-- False firewall from a 500e was welded in for engine clearance.
-- No Electrical work has been started -- Nothing is cut.
Attached is a gallery of some photos as it sits now. I plan this week to pull it out, get it cleaned up, and take some better photos of it. If you have any questions, I am happy to help best I can. I am a car guy, but mostly Audi/VW, so if there is anything specific to MBZ, give me a bit to answer.
