FOR SALE FS: Ultimate .036 Toolkit ** DANGER - extreme chick magnet **

I have for sale here, the ULTIMATE in 124.036 accessories. This is such an important one, that the chicks will sense it's in your trunk without the trunk even being open.
This accessory makes the gray Derf-switches rather a moot point.

It's a W140 spare wheel tub with the W140 toolkit. The toolkit REQUIRES this tub ... the stock 124.036 tub is too small of diameter to allow the toolkit to fit. This is a near-direct bolt-in to the 036.

It consists of the following items:

  • wheel tub
  • toolkit case (no tools are included; you must source these standard MB tools separately)
  • trunk floor screw (proper W124 part that fits your car (your car should have it already)

The other thing that's great about this toolkit is that it makes an EXCELLENT man-purse, for carrying your stuff around. A large, eye-catching design with prominent MB star and a "wrench" logo sends a clear message to the ladies that you're a man's man, you drive a Benz, and you mean business. :banana1:

Imagine walking back to your car, opening the trunk, and calmly sliding your man-purse (murse?) into its slot above the spare tire, all under the watchful and longing gaze of the ladies.

This is a rare opportunity to score one of these rare W140 items for your 036. The ROI is extremely high, as for the low, low price you are guaranteed (yes, guaranteed) to put a few new notches on your bedpost ... no expensive dinners, opera tickets, nights at the drag races, fancy trendy clothes, and other "tools of the trade" are required. Furthermore, if you are driving a $10,000 500E, this is guaranteed to bring at least a $2K increase in its value to a prospective buyer.

How can you turn this down?

Heck, even the 500Eboard mascot, Charlie, PERSONALLY approved this item. And, it has been carefully shined up with Griot's Garage Speed Shine for maximum eye appeal. In the last photo, you can see Charlie personally guarding my E500 at the door of my garage shop. He's preparing to go after a wayward lizard who got too close to the shop.....

As for price, you'll have to make me your best offer on what you think this rare, and near priceless item is worth to you. $25 would be the lowest I would take, plus $20 shipping.

What are you waiting for?!? Get this baby TODAY !!! :wootrock:

Cheers,
Gerry

140 890 00 07 as shown in the photo above (and excerpted below).

Parts.com lists MB MSRP as $32.00, with their price $22.80

The tub price, of course, does not include the tool kit, tools or the screw-on mount that sits on the trunk floor.

I saw this in Gerrys car at Startech and really like it.

Maui. You're showing your age with that Hi Karate comment. Made me laugh too.

Re: 500E. Be CAREFUL How You Use It!

The only after shave I use.

Now that you mention it, the aroma of the 500E interior is strikingly similar. Hmm, It's all starting to now make sense...

If you take out the tube completely, the tool kit sits nicely inside your spare.

I read some place that the spare gas canister does not fit in the spare wheel tub along with the toolkit on top. But will both fit if the spare wheel tub is left out, or slightly modified to fit both?

I believe you are correct -- the toolkit won't work together with the spare gas can.

Though I actually see strong merit in Derf, Maui and perhaps Ron500E utilising the spare canister for their emergency stash/supply of Hai Karate.

I'm sorry but I only use either Brut, Old Spice or Aqua Velva. It depends upon which nursing home I troll.... those babes using canes can't move that fast you know.

Old Ron, older than Malachite and Parchment combined.

The purse one carries is so dependent on the way one feels that particular day. If I feel like a tool I'll carry the tools and if I feel like a troll I'll carry the gas can so I can light little fires all along the way.

LOL...Very funny schiess here guys !!

I'm asking Santa for that soap on a rope this year.

Does the plastic , hinged, spare tire cover fit on top OK Rik without the tub?

I remember I didn't like the way the tub with tool kit fitted with the cover on my car....hence I ditched the whole thing. Stupid me didn't think of trying to use it without the tub.

I have my tool kit fitted in place of the circular cover that fit over the tire, which I removed. What I'm saying is that I still have the square plastic "frame" that fits over everything, just with the tool kit in place of the circular hinged cover. Of course, with the W140 tub inside the spare tire. Has worked well enough for me for almost 10 years now :)

Inside my tub I keep the following items:

- spare serpentine belt
- spare MB factory fuse kit (to augment the spare fuses in the fuse box)
- factory tool kit (in addition to the W140 tools)
- set of 5 lug bolts for the factory spare tire (needed if you are running many aftermarket wheel combos)
- blanket (pilfered probably 15 years ago from American Airlines)
- roll of toilet paper in a Ziploc bag (never know when you may need to "go" while on the road)

Yes, that's what I thought too out from the pics of the toolbox, tub, and the spare wheel trunk cover.

My idea is to remove the spare wheel tub and lay the Bellino gas can inside the spare wheel, which also secure the spare wheel. Then it could be possible to put the toolbox on top of that again, resting on the wheel. In any case the round center cover removed have to be removed.

Can anyone confirm this?

Does it fit 'flush' (heehee)with the felt over it?

I work outside in the wilderness a lot in my regular job....TP in the 4x4 for the unscheduled 'field dump' is absolutely necessary !!

Oh yeh ... fer shure. Been carrying TP in the rig since my Rabbit GTI days in the 80s. Sometimes nature calls damned fast, particularly the morning after a night out drinking microbrews. We didn't used to call it "painting the bowl" for nothing :D

Maui,

I'll be sending your box out shortly. If you need to receive it at a certain time of day when your lady isn't in the house, just let me know and I can specify that time for delivery. Otherwise you could get bloody well mauled without even opening the box.... this is hot stuff.

Yes, it fits fine and it does not interfere with the trunk liner
