FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping with code 500EPROMO

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

Looks like it's working now, including Chrome browsers. Must have been a temporary outage.

FYI - RevolutionParts is the platform that a bunch of dealers are using for their web stores, including Naperville, Husker, Flemington, and some others.

Clear out cookies and try again, update windows too, several updates available last few weeks.

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

Just placed an order with mboemparts.com and used the site discount for shipping. Everything worked just fine.'

I sure am grateful to the good folks at MB of Naperville providing us at the 500Eboard with free shipping, not to mention the fast shipping service. Much obliged.

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

I can't second that enough. Every time I need a part, I go to mboemparts.com and it's always the cheapest. Lots of times it's cheaper than the aftermarket substitute.

Please support this business so they can keep offering us these great deals.

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

Did the same last week for the rubber bits for my MAF change. Found the free shipping code and it worked great. Its my go to place now.

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

Will get to MAF this weekend. And report back what I find.

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

Has anyone else experienced a delay in shipping from Napperville lately? I'm not complaining, but last month my order didn't ship until the fourth business day from the day they received my payment (ordered 5/6 and shipped on 5/11). I had to buy the same parts from the dealer to install them before I left town.

At 3 a.m. Tuesday morning (5/30), I placed an order. Notwithstanding Monday being a holiday, it has been three business days (T, W, Th) and still no record of the order's status in my account on the Napperville site. My paypal account still shows the purchase pending, even though there is definitely enough in there to cover it.

Anyone know if there is an option to request expedited handling? I would gladly pay an additional fee if I knew when the parts would ship out. The free shipping is definitely nice, but when it takes a week to get the parts, it is often a factor to consider, especially when you are in the middle of a project and your car is down. Thanks.

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

I have two orders pending from them (one arriving tomorrow). I put the order in last Friday. The other one should arrive early part of next week.

I'm getting ready to place a third order for 126 rear suspension subframe parts.

Thanks, Gerry. So it's taking about a week for you to get yours too.

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

I have been buying something every other week for 2-3 years. I will talk to Bob in the morning and see what has been going on with staffing if anything. If the parts come from Europe it's 2 day from received day, not order day. It sux when you need it Friday and it's Wednesday the following week. I report back or have Bob reach out.

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

Ditto what Louis said. If it's not in a USA warehouse and has to come from Germany... it will be another 5-7 days, in addition to normal order processing times. I don't know if Naperville drop-ships from US warehouses for everyone - that may be special treatment for big-honcho customers. I may be wrong, but I'd expect they likely order most items in-house and then ship ground from Naperville when everything arrives. (??) If so, this adds a few more days.

:watchdrama:

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

Thanks, guys. FedEx took only two days to deliver my last order, which actually arrived on a Saturday. If it was coming from Germany I would expect it would take the dealer more than four days to process it. Maybe I have been spoiled in the past because they used to ship it out the next day. If I ordered something on Tuesday night it would get here by the end of the week. My wife's favorite store is Ulta. My favorite is Napperville MB!

Are you sure there's no GVZ EXPRESS dropdown menu that I'm missing?

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

Actually, 5k a year average in parts and supplies for 2 cars qualifies for exactly the same as everyone else :D More often than not, many parts are coming from CA, NJ, FL and IL. Just depends on where they are and if in the Fatherland, it almost always gets to IL then shipped.

Jon D. said "...My wife's favorite store is Ulta. My favorite is Napperville MB!""

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ This is utter truth at my house too. One annoyance is that I would get fedex deliveries for stretches of time that had 5-6 boxes that may have contained 3 ounces of parts in each from various warehouses on a $200 order. Of course getting a second car meant that doubled. Since I got the E, we have had to remodel the kitchen, replace all the pool equipment, get wife a new E350 Cabriolet, and wife joined Stich Fix, cuz the joys of shopping are so exciting and the deliveries from Anthropology and every other store now keeps pace with Naperville.

Nice thing is, all "Dad's stupid car parts" get brought into the house daily since they cannot tell what it is and who its for until they bring it in!!! Happy wife.....happy life.

Yes. Nearly every order I have placed is delayed similar to yours. Unfortunately their communication about order status is very poor.

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

Same for me as well. 2 or 3 weeks ago I placed an order that took 5 days to process. Delivery was 3 days after that. Maybe the delay was because it had to come from Germany. With free delivery I can't really complain, but if I paid extra for expedited delivery, I would be justified in being annoyed.

Yesterday I ordered air and oil filters. This will be a good test to see how quickly "ordinary" orders take. Usually I don't care about the delay, but when I want to have something by the weekend, I've started ordering from other sources (often Amazon if I can find a good price because shipping is insanely fast).

Another weird thing about Naperville orders. The FedEx person they use often leaves the parts by my garage, which is basically on the street, rather than the front door. I know the folks at Naperville have no control over the delivery person, but it's strange it only happens with Naperville deliveries.

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

I received order acknowledgement immediately from mboemparts.com via e-mail, once I make the order. For both orders, I also received status updates from them, and tracking number notification as to when a box ships (at the time they shipped).

For my second order, where I ordered two late W126 heated washer nozzles as part of a larger order, they also informed me separately that the part had to come from Germany, and this would introduce a 5-7 day delay for the order.

It appears that MB Naperville has changed its ordering from the older "Parts.com" days. It used to be that they did the following:

- For parts they had in their own dealership's parts stock, they would ship immediately from Naperville/Romeoville, IL
- For parts that were in MB parts warehouses, they would have MB ship the part(s) directly from the five MB parts warehouses
- For parts that were in German MB warehouses, they would get the part from MB and then ship it to customers from Naperville/Romeoville, IL (after a few days' delay)

Now, it seems that MB Naperville is obtaining all parts directly from MB warehouses, collecting them, and shipping them directly to customers from their dealership. i.e. no (or at least fewer) direct shipments to customers from MB parts warehouses. This is what most of the dealers always have been doing (such as MB Gainesville, and Husker), and it introduces a 2-3 day delay, because the dealership has to collect all of the parts from various MB warehouses, repack them and then ship them out.

In the older days, you would order parts from parts.com or mboemparts.com on a Monday, and you would have parts at your door on Thursday, or Friday at the latest, most often shipped from MB warehouses.

These days, it seems that all boxes are coming from Naperville/Romeoville.

My first order, placed May 24 (last Wednesday), was shipped on the 31st, and is out on the truck for delivery to me today.

My second order, placed May 25 (last Thursday), is waiting for the washer nozzles from Germany, and has not yet shipped.

In the old days, the free shipping was FedEx 2-Day shipping. It appears that the "free shipping" is still 2-Day FedEx, per attachment.

Markville, I know that at least for me, I have several "waves" of totally different FedEx drivers that deliver at various points throughout the day. Early morning, morning, early afternoon, and evening. It is likely that your mboemparts packages are being delivered by one particular driver who, perhaps, is not savvy as to security/placement of the package.

I also specify at time of order that I want a human to sign for my FedEx packages. I have had two packages stolen (one off my apartment doormat, that was sent me by my mom last fall) so I am not messing around any more with them dropping packages off. Same with UPS. For USPS I have a keyed lock-box for up to Large Flat Rate box size, so this is not as much of a problem.

Cheers,
Gerry

You should request that in the fill-in form at the time of order, and see if they will oblige it. Or else, just don't enter the 500Eboard promo code and pay for expedited shipping. That is one nice thing about the old parts.com site -- you could specify the shipping level you wanted. I think other sites still do that, such as MB Asheville.

And, Tom Hanson at MB Classic Center can expedite shipping, as well. Particularly if you speak with him directly about it. Don't count Tom out as far as obtaining parts and getting fast shipping. If you speak with him directly, you will be surprised at the competitiveness of what the MBCC can offer price and shipping-wise.

Are you sure there's no GVZ EXPRESS dropdown menu that I'm missing?
Unfortunately, those days are over. However, MB Naperville did give all of us a blanket free shipping promo, so in one sense I guess I can say that the wealth has been shared :jono:

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - free shipping

I've noticed the same from Naperville on my last two shipments. I wonder if they are doing it to consolidate their shipping costs for our 500E free shipping deal?

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

On Tuesday morning, I ordered an oil dipstick, door check strap and 8 O-rings. I got the order confirmation immediately; but as of right now, that order doesn't even appear under "my orders," so I don't expect to receive it any time soon. I guess I'll have to make a trip to the dealer today for the O-rings.

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

Just got email confirmation that the order I placed yesterday has shipped.

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

Just got an email confirmation that the order I placed on Tuesday will get here next Wednesday.

Then I got a second email:

Thank you for purchasing your parts from us. In order to expedite your order as fast as possible we had to ship your order from multiple warehouse locations. Please watch for additional packages to arrive at your location soon.

So, I don't know when the parts that I needed will arrive. I already bought the O-rings today at the dealer, so at this point it's moot.

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

I ordered my retaining nut clip for passenger side airbag frame last Saturday and it got delivered today. I ordered two for about $5 and got the free $19 FEDEX shipping. No complaints here. Happy to get my car back on the road with the extra horsepower that this OEM clip will provide.

Does the MB Classic Center have a parts website like Ashville and Napperville, or are all orders placed over the phone? Being closer to the left coast, I guess I should check into them as a source of parts.

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

No parts ordering site for the MBCC. You have to speak with them and order directly.

The good thing about talking with Tom Hanson or one of his colleagues is that they know a lot of tips and tricks and the ins and outs with regard to various parts, substitutions, etc. This inherent/institutional/insider knowledge is often something you can't put a price on. Tom can also be a miracle worker in obtaining certain parts from Germany that the average "stealer" can't obtain ... or Tom will require much less hassle to get them. Just sayin'

Cheers,
Gerry

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

Thanks, Gerry. It may be worth trying MBCC for that reason alone.

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

I just now placed a $1,000 parts order with MBOEMparts.com, and got the free shipping deal. Immediately got the order acknowledgement e-mail from them. It's the bulk of parts for my 560SEC rear subframe job, and includes all new rubber bushings, new inner and outer rear wheel bearings, new rear brake rotors (MB factory, gray painted), and much more. I also bought a new idler arm and idler arm bushing kit. And a second spare, new MB hood star for my E500, to keep on the shelf. The first one will go on the car soon. This is going to be a burly process, rebuilding this C126 rear subframe and trailing arms.

Also, within the past 15 minutes I received a shipping notice for the second order I'd previously made, which contained the W126 heated windshield nozzles among other things. The nozzles had to come from Germany. The package is supposed to be delivered on Wednesday of this week -- just under 2 weeks after order was made.

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

Gerry, you must share your special code, lol! The code from post #33 is only good for up to $50 off S&H charges...

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

Interestingly, I did notice that there were two shipping options available: Standard FedEx shipping charges, and "FedEx 3-Day" shipping, which was about triple the cost of the standard FedEx shipping.

I didn't remember seeing multiple options in the past, but I could have been mistaken on that.

I have to report the same GVZ. My order placed Sunday and shipped today, due Wednesday delivery by 10am.

FYI,

Order placed Sunday night for one poly-v belt tensioner. Notified today (Thursday) that it just shipped out. ETA this Tuesday.

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

I made a pretty large order of esoteric MB parts for the 126 rear axle. Just received notification that it shipped today. Too bad I'll be on the GVZ Euro Tour 2017 Edition starting in 10 mins (sitting on the plane waiting to take off now) so I won't get the box until end of the month.

Work commences on the rear suspension rebuild in about 2 weeks. Watch the GVZ Coupe Refirb thread for regular updates.

The axle is in the shop and ready to get started when I'm back in the country.

I've enjoyed watching you tear into the the 126. Like you, I am out for a few weeks too, except in my case I'm on the domestic DHL/Amazon tour (AUS-IAH-CVG-DFW, reverse and repeat every night). Have a good trip, Gerry.

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

I am very close to Amazon IAH, you can help me finish the c126 hvac box install and dash...

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

That is the one job that I dread having to try. I'm presuming the evap on the 126 is just as bad as the W124? Unless the airplane breaks, we're usually only in IAH for about 30 minutes, which is just long enough for the brakes to cool off, then off to AUS or CVG.

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

Just ordered some parts from Darvin at MB Gainesville. Had not purchased parts from him in a while due to a prior order issue that occurred. Darvin was very helpful in assisting me with getting in touch with the Classic Center and researching part differences on my Japan-spec car. I was also pleasantly surprised when he offered to split up and send out my purchase in two batches so I could get the first batch to a friend who is to hand carry the items for me to Taiwan, while waiting for the second batch of items to come from Germany. Will try Naperville on my next order, but always nice to work with a vendor who knows your name. Kudos to Darvin.

Safe travels! I have it going on in the owners thread but yes, dash removal first. Under the dash, a coffin resembling the space station contains flaps, vacuum pods, lines and inside contains the evaporator core and heater core. Very awkward to remove and handle, biggest time job there is, 30+ hours and this is my third dash removal on a C126. The 90 degree ambient temp doesn't help me get it done any faster.

Ken, which code are you using? The original code in post #1 (nextorder630) no longer works, it was changed to "500EPROMO"... see post 33 and 39.

Also, it only discounts up to $50 in S&H fees. If your S&H total is $70, you'll likely get billed $20 unless they adjust S&H charges when the order is processed.

Also, I've experienced problems inputting the code when trying to place an order on a tablet but it works fine on a PC. All other parts of the ordering process worked fine on the tablet so for a while I thought the code just didn't work.

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

I have been using 500EPROMO but it has not worked. I tried last week with small plastic cover that cost $15 and they quoted shipping at $15. The promo code would not work.

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

Nice, thanks for the site suggestion. I stopped using parts[.com] after their abysmal customer services and mistake order. mboemparts looks much better, too. SL is getting new parts :)

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

Hi Guys,

Here's a quick update from MBoemparts.com, and an apology for not posting very often. I've read some of your posts about shipping times, order eta's, and promo code usage and I would like to give an update. As some of you know, if we do not have a part in stock we will drop ship it from one of the 5 different Mercedes-Benz warehouses throughout the US. Doing this will speed up our shipping times and help get the parts to you quicker. Obviously, there is an extra cost involved in shipping this way.

We have been offering all the members of the 500E board free shipping as our thank you to the group. The promo code is 500EPROMO (free shipping up to $50.00 of shipping costs, which cover most parts that you will likely order). You can use the promo code as many times as you like. Most orders process within 24-48 hours, with the exception of weekends and holidays. Depending on which warehouse has the part, orders usually take about 5 business days to arrive at your door.

Any part sources in Germany can not be drop shipped. They are shipped to our location and then shipped out to you. It generally takes about 5-7 business days for us to get the part, and 3-4 day to get to you depending on where you're located. I hope this explanation helps, and be assured that we will do everything we can to get your order to you as fast as possible. We've been a proud supporter of this group for a very long time, and will continue to support it. We appreciate what you're doing here, and the work you do to keep these great cars on the road.

Bob,

Thanks for your explanation of your ordering process and in the other post explaning why you can not help us with lock cylinders per the MBUSA rules. I think I am ordering twice per week now from you guys. I appreciate your support of our community.

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

It's always pleasure buying from MBoemparts.com and Rene is super-helpful when I have to call. I just placed a couple very large orders over the past 3 weeks and received everything in a timely manner. Thank you for the free shipping promo code!

Re: FYI - Parts orders from MB Naperville - Free shipping through 12-31-2017

I use to order from mbpartsworld (Atlanta MB) and a feature on their website I really liked was that when searching a part it would list all the different models that part was used on. I found it very helpful, but now it's gone. It seems ALL the MB online wholesale sites are using the same basic format that doesn't show the many model applications for a specific part number. Anybody know why that has changed?
