A few surprises.
Site said they would be Beru but what I got was labeled on the box as Bremi but really built in the USA by Karlyn out of NY. Box has a big Bremi Technology made in Germany logo on the side but the flap on the end has all the Karlyn STI #113R info on it.
Set itself in appearance is VERY impressive super heavy real stranded copper wire screw on Bremi connections at the caps with the 90 degree resistor ends labeled Karlyn. Workmanship to the eye is flawless however they are NOT numbered as the instructions say they should be so that is a real PITA on one of these. I had planned to drop them in today before I go in at 1 but when I saw the no numbers decided to wait until Friday when I have all day just in case I run into issues matching them up and with wire lengths. Will take photos and get a report back to you guys when get them in on Friday ( weather permitting!)
PS just noticed on the Packing Slip its sited Replaces product Q415036 and FF1020-156397 and the MFG is listed as BRM.

Regarding plug lead numbering one tip I would offer is to use a sharpie to write the cylinder number clearly onto both ends of the plug lead boots as you swap them out one by one. So it is easy to identify the leads by taking off the distributer cover or cam spark plug cover. And take pictures of the original spark plug wire routing before you take the old leads off- I learned the hard way but got it all put back correctly after a lot of head scratching!

Also- Only a few months back I bought a new set of Bremi leads which were all marked Bremi. No USA markings on them. Perhaps Euro customers get different Bremi leads!? I have pictures of them at home I can add later.

Just found another interesting slip in the box on these. STI offers a written LIFETIME warranty to the original purchaser on this set of wires !

FYI: Aftermarket wire lengths will generally not be the same as OE. If you remove one OE wire at a time and pick the closest match from the aftermarket set, you COULD end up with one or two that are way longer or shorter than needed, and have to go back and swap wires around.

Ideally you'd measure all the new aftermarket wires and compare to the factory lengths in the EPC, to figure out which would be the best fit for each cylinder, and mark them accordingly. There are 2 different lengths specified in the EPC, the early (up to engine xxx) are for the metal 90° boots. The late (as of engine yyy) are for the orange plastic 180° boots. Can't remember if anyone has documented this in an old thread or not.

:apl:

if you can take a good picture inside the 90 degree boot- it would be helpful. I think even on the Beru sets, that changed at the end of production. Karylin is just a reboxer from my understanding. At first it looked like they were going to be a Febi of the USA, but then next order the parts went from OE suppliers to China made.

These are pics of my Bremi leads bought from flebay.de around 6 months ago. All marked Bremi. I did also find them comparable to OE quality - or as good as it gets aftermarket! Lengths were good too - maybe 2 wires were about 1 1-5 inches too long IIRC
