Is that really the going price for these? I think I have at least three or four complete sets, they were standard equipment in Sweden.
Yeah, unfortunately the parts are NLA new, and only facelift cars in USA/Canada had these - and, the wipers were optional equipment on base models (wagons, diesels). So, there are not a lot available in North America. They can be found for less, but generally you'd end up buying the pieces separately which can be time consuming. A complete kit like this with motors, arms, blades, and trim panels is a nice find.

Looks like this kit sold, the listing was ended.

Ok, then I'll definitely remove the wiper assemblies from two cars I'm scrapping, and invent what I have (at least another three sets). I'm reinstalling them on my 500E, but if I have lots of spares left I'll post them for sale here, for a bit more reasonable price. :)

Fun fact, in Sweden headlight washer were mandatory by law on all cars until sometime in the 90's, that's why all 124's in Sweden, even a base model 200E is fitted with them. So the wiper assemblies are not hard to come by here. Of course, most of them will need a service etc, and perhaps a lick of paint on the arms.

Would these fit a95 E320?
Yes, but they will only be functional if your E320 originally had headlight wipers. If not, the wiring harness will not be present.

They will bolt up otherwise, with the exception of the trim panel not aligning properly with the facelift lenses. The set shown for sale in post #1 includes trim panels for pre-facelift Euro lights, the 94-95 cars are facelift and the lights/lens/panels are slightly different.

That set is gone / sold anyway...

I'm interested. I'm retrofitting this into my E420, so please let me know once you do this!!!!!

Is the washer bottle not different as well with two pumps so as to spray the lights ?
Graeme Johnson
Washer bottle is the same, the extra motor pocket has a plug to seal it off. However, cars delivered without the wipers may not have the wiring harness... if so, the harness must also be extracted from the donor vehicle.

:sawzall:

Thats a sensible way of doing things
I have only ever had cars with the wipers and washers so have only ever seen the washbottle
with two pumps and shaped hold them
Thanks for clarifying
Graeme Johnson

@lzamora - see post #10 above. Did you E420 not come with headlight wipers from the factory?
Well, long story, a few years ago, when I got the options factory list, forgot the proper name, I came to know that it was installed from factory, however, when I purchased the car, they were removed….. 🤬🤷🏼‍♂️🤬🤷🏼‍♂️🤬🤷🏼‍♂️🤬

So I want them back and I’m buying the stuff separately. I’m not sure if the harness is still there TBH… so that’s the thing.

I would bet that the harness is still there, it's a right pain to remove and split, they were usually just tucked away. The wipers were usually removed to make the car look "better", not to sell since all of it was available new. If you follow the wiring you will find the connector for it, it may be hidden under the headlight. I bet it's still there. The usual thing was to just plug the hoses for the washer fluid too, so have a look if they are still there.
