Sunday is a 1000+ car show on the track as well as a Concours on the main straight. All cars are park along the track sides in their respective groups/clubs. The CT/Westchester MB Club will be there and I'm hoping the Minuteman, Long Island and the other NYC clubs will join us as well.

This year the Grand Marshall is none other than Sir Stirling Moss, a Mercedes driving hero if there ever was one. He will be visiting with our group and we hope to present him with something (prolly a lame polo shirt) and get some pictures with him. Not sure if he is bringing along his SLR racer from back in the day. 8-)

See the website for details...cost is $22 (tho I will have free passes for club members) I already know of 4 other E500Es that 'plan' to be there, including the Ltd. car will be there along with my old dawg. Of course, gaggles of Pontgons, Pagodas and the like will be there too. And the Concours should be MB heavy with Gullwings, SLs etc.

Pack a lunch and some beers; the pits will be open and all the race cars and teams will be on hand. Always a good time and the weather is typically fanstastic for early fall here in the hills of CT. Thanks goes out to organizers Fred Jackson and Murray Smith for inviting us (again). Murray was the lucky fellow who drove one of the the original Silver Arrows in 2009 from the Collier Collection here at LRP; the first time it had been driven in nearly 50 years !

PM me for questions and/or more info. Hope to see you there...

Here are a few pictures...it was a fantastic day/weekend. Sir Stirling Moss was golf carted over to us around noon, we all got to meet him and he signed autographs/pictures, peoples cars etc. What a sweet old timer and a real Mercedes living legend. John Fitch also came by, but I missed him. Sam Posey as well was there in his Gullwing (but not with our club)

6 - .036s showed up, a nice gathering... from Chip's 28K mile car to Gary's 190K mile car.

The biggest deal (to me) was that Lothar brought not only his mint Gullwing, but also his alloy bodied SLto park with us...prolly a good 5 million worth of cars from him alone. All said, there were over 50 MBs there in our club's section on the track... we've come a long way from 2010 when we only had 12 cars show up !!

Lothar's gem:

Joe's 300SL roadster:

Craig's SEC: (ex-Ernie Teile car) (this one's for you Gerry)

My car was in the mix: (of course I have better shots to upload)

Mike's Sportline Coupe with Gary's 500E:

Chips' E500:

One last salute for the haters; (yep, that's me !)

LOL...yes, of course ...anyone can use that last picture of me; but only when it's appropiate !

Sure KarlC...I'm excited to share; it was such a great weekend for all of us...we are still talking about how all of it went so well.

My car has almost 160K miles on it, the coupe has 180K, the SEC about 140K (I think)....not bad for a bunch of Northeast rust buckets. There was another taupe coupe , a 95' (that I sold to the club president actually a few years ago) that was there too...it has almost 200K on it. A beat up 190E from NYC had 250K+ on it, Clark's 91' 300SDL has 375K on it and is still going strong and looks pretty darn good for all of it's miles...

Even tho Lothar's cars are registered in NH, he is a CT guy...hope y'all like his rust buckets too !

Wow! What a great event! Looks like you guys had a superb turn out! Some amazing looking mercs in those shots!

More pictures....

Love this coupe...its sits soooo nice

Nice pics, thanks for sharing.

Those style of wheels look SO out of place on the C126 SECs....
