ok right off the top i do understand this is a 500e forum but i have found alot of useful info here so i was thinking you guys might be able to help me out!
about a year ago i bought a 92 MB 400e from my pops :drool5:
it didnt run very well but still its a benz!i gave it as much TLC as i could at the time, wires caps plugs brakes upper wire harness...and such.it ran much better.but she still NEEDS alot of help
so here is where i stand >me<.
the main thing i can not find what is wrong with my steering,as i drive slow(15-25 MPH) the steering wheel pulls left and right back and forth back and forth but i dont feel anything when i hit the brake just pressure like the norm.also the front end pulls left and right when going slow to the beat of the steering wheel, yes it is just like when on a bicycle W/ a bent back rim.
now thats when i drive slow...fast is a whole diff. story :) lol
now when i say fast i mean the speed limit :3gears:
so on with the story when i go 25-50 MPH my hands start to go numb from the mad wobble in the steering
it is very loose to the pass. side almost a 1/4 turn of the wheel
it is very hard to hold my lane with all the fighting to go straight and my hands being numb lmao
if this thing was a ford it would have been dead yrs ago

so if anyone could throw some info my way i am also looking for a place to order the parts from.
thanks ahead of time!

First thing would be to check the steering linkage... tie rods, drag link, idler arm. There should be near zero play in all the links. If any are bad... replace ALL of them (followed by an alignment at the MB dealership, not anywhere else).

If the links are all tight... check for loose lug bolts on the wheel, wheel bearing end play too loose, or a bent wheel. That's what I'd check to start with anyway. From what you describe it kind of sounds like a badly bent wheel... have you tried swapping the rear wheels to the front of the car?
