Imperial Red 500E Wagon Build

Does anyone else just sit back and shake their heads at the ability of some folks to pull stuff like this off? Basically three weeks of "Just get 'er done" attitude, after the day job, no less, combined with mad skilz and the outcome is a machine most of us would drool over, at least I would. Who is this Germanautoservice and why isn't his shop about 1500 miles closer to me? I patted myself on the back after successfully changing my rear struts, and you do stuff like this......Hats off to you sir!

Rgds,
Chris

Well thank you for the kind words. I have always been know to do what most people see as too hard or not possible. The problem is I get bored too easy. I've been enjoying the car as a daily driver, got engulfed in my other car. Will be going to do some more things on the wagon but excited to dyno the e55, target hp is 1050 at the flywheel. It's really hard to get bored with that!

Looks like we will have to make a gentlemen's agreement not to buy this car so your boredom may turn into further modification. Remote mount turbo, please!

Really great work!
WOW i'm speechless and the the final price is a joke, were you in Germany i would take it immediately.

Your E55 interests me. Are you in the MBWorld Forums registered? 641RWHP?! Thats crazy already - how you done that with the stock blower and Intercooler? Fastest ones i know are the ones with the Weistec Blower + other full mods and resulting in 600RWHP after a EC tune.
The other thing is the traction. In stock form (~396WHP) without an LSD it already has to much power from the dig - even with a LSD its still to powerfull at the rear IMHO. How do you think you get the power to the ground?

Its a 2005 e55 the list of mods as follows
custom supercharger pulley and clutch
185mm crank pulley
1000cc injectors
massive 31wide 19 inch tall 4 inch thick heat exchanger
3 700gph water pumps
3 heat exchangers (pre and post coolers)
ported and worked supercharger
Cnc ported heads
cnc valve job with full radius on exhaust 5 angle intake with bowl work
full sleeved block
forged billet cp pistons
light weight ring package
cryo treated rotating assembly
oil shed coated crank
oil shed coated rods
nos
custom made full arp head studs
Custom cometic head gaskets
custom arp main studs
3000 stall converter
custom valve body
trans tune

That's all I can think of off the top of my head, but it should be a monster....like I said its hard to get bored with that!

So I got bored again, wagon still needed some intake work.... With some parts left over I put this together. Not going to gain any power( minimal at best) but looks pretty :nobmw:

Thanks for that List, however it is hard for me to believe you reached that amount of RWHP with the stock and very restrictive Throttlebody and stock camshafts, let alone the stock exhaust manifolds.
The 700GPH pumps, aren't they to weak? The infamous and often used Meziere WPS 136 Intercooler Pump does 21GPM, thats ~1200+ GPH. Even with tons of Heat exchangers and pumps, you only going to raise the timeframe before a heatsoak appears.

The real bottleneck is the bad designed Intercooler below the Blower. Also the Blower itself is not the most effective one, even with just a slight raise in boost, it creates tremendous amount of heat. Thats why i even get concerned getting a 77mm SC pulley (180mm crank equivalent) for my longer WOT passes...

That said, with stock blower and stock Intercooler, the strongest 55 AMG i heard of with stock blower and Intercooler was only close to 600WHP, 580 some WHP IIRC. And it had FULL Mods, means everything including ported/polished race heads, cams, ported 82mm TB, 190mm pulley, LTH, custom exhaust, etc etc etc.

Hello Christian,

Which IC pump are you using on the CL55 ?
We Just made Kleemann Stage 4 tuning on a 2003 CL55, it still has the original IC pump (but working) and I wonder if the upgraded pumps make a significant difference Vs Stock working IC pump.

O crap, forgot about some

86 mm tb, cnc ported and center bar shaved
ported amg supercharger inlet
handbuilt (by me) 2 inch primary equal length headers
kleeman cams
full exhaust
exhaust ceramic coated and wrapped

There is absolutely nothing on the engine, blower, trans that has not been improved, altered, modified or broken lol.

I have over 12 gallons of water with a ice down tank, and 700 GPh per heat exchanger is plenty. The stock intercooler is just a pre cooler at this point. The custom built slr style coolers are the primary cooling. Don't worry the dyno doesn't lie. The dyno is in house so as soon as it's done I'll be happy to post.
As for 600 rwhp , I have dyno sheets ats 650hp/750tq stock cams, blower, cooler.
And no, not on any other forums. Too political for my taste....I like it here :-)

So what happened to the intake and exhaust for the 500 engine?Really looking forward to that.

I'm still working on the intake, tricky design and getting throttle body placement correct is posing a problem. As for exhaust , like is said in a earlier post ill get to it just want to finish my e55. I have several people wanting the wagon so if by chance I sell it I'll just build it for the e420/ 500 swap car. Dyno before and after ..

Here is a old dyno sheet, stock cams ,only running the stock intercooler, stock pistons... First build of the engine. I do understand what your saying, but it is possible to build a car better than what is out there. At the shop we pride ourselfs in outdoing the competition . I haven't not met target horsepower yet.
