I’d say for shops local to me in the past number of yearstheir business has been very much steered towards non fault Insurance claim repairs.In other words fender benders where they charge an insurance company high feesfor little work in return.
If a private individual approaches most paint shops here witha car wanting a full repaint they are mostly not interested at all and willeither send you on your way or give a quotation so amazingly high they know you won’ttake them up on it.
So they readily choose the smaller repairs at much higher (readextortionate) rates paid by a faceless insurance company rather than doing a good hard day’s graft at an agreed price.
