Installing a tiptronic 722.6 into a non-tip 722.6 car.

I’m prepping to do a 5.4 conversion on my 99 C43. I have a 722.636 transmission that I would like to use. My C43 currently has the original 722.631, EGS51 non tipronic. I cannot find much info on installing a gearbox from an EGS52 car with tiptronic into an earlier EGS51 non tip car. Both the .636 and .631 are 580NM versions, and the differences I know at the moment are the shift solenoids, output flange, and the shift interlock. It appears the valve body won’t matter, but the .631 shift solenoids should swap over to the new gearbox. The EGS51 transmissions have a cable for the shift interlock that enters the transmission right above the pan, drivers side near the output flange. My .636 gearbox doesn’t have the hole, the casting is there, and it seems like it can be drilled out. I’ve heard of leaving the interlock disconnected, but I’m not about to half ass this swap. Has anyone done a similar conversion or knows of a write up on how to go about getting an early style shift interlock to work in a later 722.6?

Also I’d like to keep my .631 torque converter because it should have a drain plug, I don’t foresee this being a problem.

Another comment, I think there are 2 cables coming from the shifter, one to the EIS, and one to the transmission. If I deleted the shift lock on the trans, then would it would still not allow you to start the car in gear, similar to the tiptronic system works?

I think that the guy who makes the standalone controllers for installing 722.6 into non 722.6 cars has support for paddle shifters.

I could convert to an EGS52 and tune for paddles, but I don't want paddles. I just want to install a later 722.636 into my 1999 C43 and retain the PLIL.
