Hi, I have recently updated to EURO headlights on my 1993 500E and am in the market for a set of either the blanks (removing the wipers) 124-889-05-63 and 124-883-06-63 or a set of the EURO version part numbers 124-889-07-63 and 124-889-08-63.

If I am lucky my 500E is the Black Metallic.

thanks in advance.

Tony

Blank 05/06 appear NLA.

Euro 07/08 appear to still be available new ~$15 each from Naperville. These appear to be the last matching pairs of panels still available, all the other types have either one or both sides NLA. The wiper shaft grommet 1269971481 had been NLA in early 2021 but has come back from the dead, order a couple to go with the new wiper panels.

NOTE: 07/08 panels are NOT blank panels! They are for the "Euro" headlight wipers.

Considering the lack of Euro headlights, I figured those might be the only panels left. Wipers were optional in Europe. I do have one right wiper available. They have also been showing up on EBay occasionally.

when I put in my year/make/model it tells me those parts do not fit my car, says the are

just so I don't screw this up, the listing says 87-89 and I have a 93, but the part numbers match... at that price, I am going to get them. - THANK YOU!

Never trust fitment information from ANY website. Only the EPC (or Xentry Parts / ISPPI) is accurate for what fits and what doesn't. Also ignore the year range shown in the description (1987-1989), this is meaningless.

That said, the 07/08 panels are meant for pre-facelift, non-USA cars with Euro wipers, which did not exist in USA. So the website is actually correct, in that those panels are not meant for your car as delivered. But since you went and installed Euro headlights, you need the matching Euro wiper panels...

you are the BEST... thank you!

@agsiress,
If I were you I would first install Lamin-X protection on your new E-Code headlights. Those glass lenses are as rare as hen’s teeth.

I just deleted the wipers and installed blank panels below the headlights. The wipers a pretty useless unless your in snow country.

Definitely apply Lamin-X if they don't already have it.

The wipers look cool and are technically correct, as no 036 left the factory without the headlight wipers. Even if they may never get used in a warm climate, I still like 'em!

thanks Dave, I was able to find a 3rd party who has the blank panels. classiceuroparts.com has them. So I ordered a set, now I have the OG set for the original headlights, a set coming for the EURO lights and wipers and a blank set... (so many options).

FYI... those are aftermarket reproductions, not factory. Compare the quality to the genuine wiper panels when you have both in hand and see what you think!

Has anybody ever thought about how the Lamin-X on the headlights would hold up with wipers running over it. Laminate-X is pretty soft, I’m not sure that’s going to work very well.

@036,
No disrespect Arcady but to each his own opinion. I actually like the deleted wiper look. My car will never be in a concourse event or for that matter even in the rain unless I’m accidentally caught in it.:jono:

PS: I still have the original US wipers and motors but with the Euro E-Code lights I don’t think they will fit or look right.

lol

I like both looks, wipers and no wipers
No wipers look slick!
Wipers look nice cause our eyes are used to them being oem, etc.

Not sure how the wipers get out of their oem clocked position, but I have seen it and it looks bad. Maybe a kid walking by and dicking with it, not sure, but just one more thing for a jerk to grab and bend, like the hood stars.....

How about a non functioning faux wiper? No wiper motor, just for astheics.
This would be tough without a motor/shaft to attach to. I could see leaving the wiper motors unplugged though, so they never move, and never lose the "park" position.

This is actually a brilliant idea. In my experience on all cars I've owned that have headlamp wipers, the motors eventually go out- moving uncontrollably until you unplug or motor burns out. All the while emptying the entire reservoir on the floor. The euro wipers look great IMO- but it's just more parts that break. I'm sure the motors are NLA too

@TerryA I know you already said you don't like the wiper look... with Lamin-X you should still be just fine. The arms are spring loaded - so as long as you don't have a hole in the Lamin-X or something solid obstructing, they should glide just fine. The US solid beam lights have those 3 nipples used for aiming/calibration and the US wipers pass over those pretty easily IIRC

<Removing wipers>
Not approved....Looks are more important....

@036 and @gsxr, we need to show @TerryA and @Stevester 500E only one image which will show them the error of their ways. Forgive them, for they know not what they speak of. @TerryA and @Stevester, this is for you: 😅

Guilty as charged. (Actually I have the previous owner to thank for this). The previous owner of my car bought new Euro headlights, motors, wipers, etc. (Back when all this was still available) He installed all that stuff and promptly disconnected the motors as soon as the wipers were clocked in the right position. I have been content to not re-connect all that jazz......

I run wipers on mine 500E with Euro headlights and I think they look great. It doesn't rain much out here but I get a lot of joy (and random compliments at drive in Covid tests) when they do go off. For my SEC euro conversion I deleted them because I think the SEC looks better without them but I could go either way on that one.
