Some good information on the early, tall-deck, Bosch CIS-E-injected M119.960-series from the R129 Intro to Service manual. The M119.960 was the first-generation motor as used in the 500SL through the end of model year 1992 (when it switched over to Bosch LH injection).

These are relevant in general terms for our cars' engines, however significant differences exist for the 500E version of this motor.

Cheers,
Gerry

Interesting stuff. I didnt know about the air cooled exhaust valves.
Anyone aware of another manufacturer that uses this in a water cooled production motor?

Thanks, Gerry

Drew
