Dave - where are you buying your OE parts these days? I assume parts.com is still out-of-order? Are you using Lionel or going directly to MB of Naperville? TIA.

I buy almost everything from the local dealership. They sell to me at a moderate discount (not as cheap as parts.com) and I have to pay sales tax, but there is no shipping, and I can deal with people in-person when placing the order, and when picking things up. I pay a bit more than it would cost via the the interweb discount vendors, but the benefits are worth it, IMO.
That said - parts.com is currently still borked, and Naperville hasn't released their new site, AFAIK. I would probably use Lionel at the moment, hard to beat that deal. You can use one of the other online vendors (i.e., MBFL) to look up pricing so you don't need to pester Lionel about prices on every item.
Almost forgot - I would highly recommend Ton Hanson at the MB Classic Center as another alternative, especially for oddball Euro-spec parts. He will match parts.com pricing if you ask.
I thank that modest individual who so generously sourced me with exactly what I was looking for. The car & I are very happy.
I rotated & checked wheel balance at start of driving season. Passenger side was spot-on. Driver side wheels were both off by same amount. I rebalanced at the last moment before taking a long trip. Unfortunately, the ride didn't feel proper at cruising speed. I finally re-did the wheels yesterday & went for a ride of varying speeds. Now feels the way I expect.
PS: I admired those attending the recent Atlanta GTG having the opportunity for professional MB balance & alignment. Out here in the Hinterlands, hundreds of miles from any such technical oasis, I gotta go Old School static balancing. Check it out.
