Hello together here in this Forum,
I am the new owner of this special car and since 2 pm this car has his new home in Dortmund.
That's for the beginning, just to let you know what happened to the car.
I will come to the 2. annual meeting which starts in Bottrop on the 28.06.14 and there we can talk to each other.
This car will not end up in a garage but driven ones in a while if the weather is fine. And of course I will try to come the meetings.
The car is the one from "Mosselmann" and he has just driven around 800kms in the last 4 years, The car is still in the same condition and I drove 500 km today to bring the car home, just great.
More in a few days.
Looking forward seeing some of you in Bottrop.

Hallo Karsten,

Thanks for posting and look forward to hearing more from you :agree:

Please start an "OWNER" thread with some photos and perhaps a bit about yourself and how you became interested in the .036. And any details/history on the car that you are willing to give.

:welcome3:

Cheers,
Gerry

Hello Sir - and welcome to the forum. :-)

Mosselmann said the car was going to a car collector, and collectors may not always use their car for driving, so it is really nice to see you're going to use it a bit. Should be nice to meet on the 2014 International 124.036 GtG in Bottorp.

Take care,

Hello Karsten,

Welcome to the forum, you are most welcome to join the 2nd international 124 500 event. And if you know other E500/500E owners they are welcomed to join the event as well.

Greetings
Ahmad

Everything I've seen puts the RENNtechs at much lower values than AMG models, although I don't entirely understand why.

Talking to "people" around FL who have been around the road and track for the last 40 years (and reading everything I can get my hands on, including "AMG 45, The Story, The Cars"), I think this comes down to R&D budgets and sensibilities. Renntech stuff has been known to break when pushed. It's almost as if it's designed too close to the edge. Whereas the AMG stuff still retains that factory usable sensibility that MB cherishes. Some say the AMG's leave too much performance on the shelf. That seems to be RennTech's view, to "go back and get that extra performance" whereas AMG's sensibility seems to be "just drive it as you wish every day and watch it never break." Of course, these are machines so "never" is not literal but relative. A comparison of the R129 SL600 vs. the SL73 (of Pagani lore) makes this point very clear -- the engine is all that changed. Ergo, the rest of the R129 car could have held the monstrous engine, but MB simply passed on it in road going variant. I'm sure safety and reliability were the reasons. The latter is the knock I hear on RennTech most often.

I for one value the mathematical proof over the scientific experiment. So all AMG for me...

Cheers,

Hello arnt,
yes I am a collector and that is what I told Mosselmann, but as a collector I love to drive the cars as well because the car have to be driven and it is fun driving the cars. I will look after the cars as good as possible and they all stay in a garage dark and warm.
Looking forward meeting you in Bottrop.

Hi Alpina,

The comparison was not E60 LTD Vs E60... It was Between a (fully documented) E60 LTD from its original owner Vs (Undocumented) E60 found in a container somewhere...
I am sure you agree that its the Auto Market Experts that set the price of these cars (e.g Our friend in Uelsby) who would not consider that E60 for half that price.

C'mon, you can't say "found in a container somewhere"!!!
it is a piece of AMG history!

Hi Guys,

the prices are rising every day I think, here is one at Mercedes-Benz museum in Stuttgart:
http://nast-sonderfahrzeuge.de/MB-Exotenforum/board_entry.php?id=124514

price they're asking now is 189k€ and since 10-11 month I haven't seen any factory E60 LTD on the market for sale.
I do not know where the price will be in few years, but I do know that when a E60 LTD turn into official oldtimer, here in Germany it will be exactly 30 years after production dates of the car, the price will come off like a rocket.

PS: somebody asked where are the 6 known of the 12 total, I have on from 1994 with full history, accident-free, with everything original from the factory like, radio, EVO rims, etc, in great condition.

Listen to the man, plain and simple, our 036 cars are turning * Oldtimer * how bout that? Think that gives us some obligation, not just any old car now.
Be careful with modifying, keep originality in mind...

Good tip! I'd recommend owners to make sensible mods which are reversible if they are considering short term (few years) owership. Of course, if you never envisge selling your car then mod the hell out of it and enjoy it as you wish.

As time goes on, these cars will only get rarer and rarer...

Hi,

I live in Moss, 60 Km. from Oslo, where do you live ? Do you still have the E 60 ?

regards
Hello,

I guess your reply wasn't directed to Mosselman, who sold his E60 AMG Limited back in September 2014 (ref post #97).

If you refer to the ad in post #116 you should contact German-Car.net. It would be great in case you bring this car back to Norway again!! :thumbsup2:

I have seen 3 of these E60's bought by their original owners [who were all invited customers] in Denmark,Italy,Portugal respectively and all of them had documentation that showed which
No.of the 12 they were {in these cases No.3,7, and 9] but when I see cars offered for sale no mention of this very important document. So I am very SCEPTICAL to their originalaty

Hello
If it exist a specific document for those allegedly 12x E60 AMG Limited ever produced, it is of high importance to us here. If you happen to have more info about that, then chime in please. :)

I don't the story of this car but according to EPC this car has Japan background and doesn't include AMG package (957).
Efraim is correct, the VIN in the advert (WDB1240361C118912) not have code 957 (AMG E60 package) in the datacard so either it's an incorrect VIN, or more likely, it was converted to 6.0L after delivery.

Since it was listed for sale 2 years ago, I'm assuming it is long gone. The VIN didn't turn up in a forum search so I created a new thread on that car here:
https://www.500eboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12676
