Hi
New to forum. Just bought a 94 500e.

Looking for monoblock I 18 wheels.
Anyone have a set they want to give up?

R

Don't know if this will be of any help, but I saw these ones in Victoria BC. They are 17" but look nice...and the exchange rate is great right now.

... Secondly, I have a set of 4 AMG Aero 1's sitting on tires with less than 18k km on them (installed at 141k km, removed at 159k km). They are 17"x8" ET/offset 28. There is some minor curb rash on one rim, otherwise they are in fantastic shape. I had them re-straightened, painted, and polished by a company in Vancouver (Green's in Richmond). I have the receipts for the tires, new lug bolts, and valve stems. Just for full disclosure, one of the rims is a Post Merger AMG rim, the only big difference being the stamp (////AMG vs AMG). They are still all authentic and fitment is the same. If you squint you may be able to notice that small difference in the photo.

The tires are Maxxis Victra Z4S (215/50ZR17), and are in great shape (still have the nubbies on the sidewall). Looking to sell the wheels and tires together for around $2000. Taking offers. ...

These wheels look great but does anyone know if they will fit on the 1994 E500? I heard the brakes on the 94 are larger and the e500 needs the et11 offset.
if I use et 28 wheels I assume I will need spacers to fill the wells or is the et 28 just a no go for the 94 E500?

richard

I think they would fit since they are close to oem 16 inch in numbers but for $2000 you can get AMG OZ wheels.

Assuming they fit without clearance issues... and I think they will work fine with stock E500 320mm brakes (but not the 334mm Brembo "Silver Arrow" upgrade):

17x8.0 ET28 will look approximately similar to the factory EVO wheels. They don't fully fill out the fenders, but they don't look bad either. You could use spacers if desired, but remember that spacers come with some hassles and extra cost. Correct tire size would be 245/45/17, not the skinny 215's currently mounted, so the tires have to go. These wheels would not be 'period correct' as they are 1980's vintage, but at the end of the day, all that really matters is what YOU think of them. If you love the look, go for it.

Also - the price seems AWFULLY steep. I'm not sure if these early monos normally command top dollar but IMNSHO, there are a lot of other wheels which look better and fit better for the same or less money. (Especially since you need to plunk down an extra $750-$1k for correct rubber.)

:seesaw:

I would think you'd want the ET11's a-la W124 fitment. The 28's are for the narrow body 124's.

I think I like monoblock I better since they are 18 inch.
What should I ask the seller?
Do the monoblock I use the same offset codes?
How would I make sure they fit my 94 E500?

They're a LOT heavier, so keep that in mind. The 210 aero II's fit w/o issue IIRC.

Get the part # off any of the 18's, make sure they aren't 140 part #'s.

Ditto what Jono said. Get the part number and size/ET numbers off the back side of the wheel. Ask the seller for photos if they don't have it listed in their ad.

Ok will do.
My car came with monoblock Is I think but they aren't right for the car - they look more star shaped.
I noticed on eBay there are a ton of monoblock wheels for sale but some look more like 5 pointed stars whereas the ones I like are less like a star and more like a plate.
Attached is the wheel look I like - even though I know these are 19"

Thank you

Guys thanks for all the great info.

im waiting for seller to confirm the stock code on the monoblocks.
in meantime I've found the Carlssom1/6 wheels and they look good too.

But I only found 8 inchx18 and 10 inch by 18 for rear.

Have anyone ever fitted these wheels to a 94 E500?
What is the right size?

Richard

That's right - I wasn't going to take them, but I was going to try and arrange a deal for them to help both of you out. Since you were willing to let them go, I was going to get you two guys talking. Looks like you're on it!

Ok these are the sizes and part numbers for the wheel I'm looking at.
Fronts seem like they are off an sl and rears and e55.

Front wheel HWA 1294010102ET31 18X8"
Back wheel HWA 2104010202ET35 18X9"

would these still till work or not?

Those are correct W210 E55 monoblocks. They are perfect.

:deniro:

If GSXR says "perfect"...I'd imagine no spacers are needed. I'd make sure you get the proper lug bolts.

Ok thanks for confirmation.
Would I need spacers on these to fit the e500?
Or when you say perfect, you mean these fit without spacers?
No spacers required. If you wanted to push the wheels out more to help fill out the fenders, you COULD add spacers, but that creates different problems.

Those wheels are mounted to Chris's car for sale, check out the photos at the link below. AFAIK, he does not have spacers installed, but you could ping him to double check:
