Greetings Ladies & Gentlemen, and welcome to another episode of "What the Hell is This!" (Audience: applause!...)

Today's Show features a "Mystery Bracket" located on the right side of an M119 engine & attached to the base of the oil filter housing! (Audience: ooh...ahh!...)

This mystery bracket currently has a vacant hole on one end. (Audience: uh-oh...say it isn't so!...)

The hole appears to be threaded! (Audience: threaded? really? hmm...)

A loyal viewer at home thinks it is for a push-in plastic clip to more securely hold lower electrical harness alternator wires... (Audience: a wuh?....)

We need to find out if our viewer wins a coveted matching set of grey resettable switches & bro-shine air intake tubes, so...What the Hell Is THIS?!! (Audience: Yay! Yeah! What the Hell is This!?)

Neither do I. If I were to guess, something to do with Euro only oil cooler; hose clamp or harness related.

I think that is for the wiring harness clamp... 000-995-80-44 in photo below.

I believe we have a confirmation. I found this 000 995 80 44 remnant sitting in the general vicinity atop the sump lip.

It must have dropped when I removed the old harness. I'm not sure if I recall seeing it attached in place before (too many parts have crossed my eyes over the past month!). I'll have to review past pictures I've taken regarding the recent alternator job.

:banana1: I found a pic from the alternator job performed a few weeks ago. No clip attached to bracket. This clip definitely detached from the bracket to the harness sometime previously & fell off the old harness upon removal (& was just waiting for me to find it).

Thanks for Playing & see you next time on "What the Hell is This!" SHow_host.jpg

Dave has nailed it.

They do break. I've used wire ties in the past, but purchased a new clip recently.
