I'm just not physically able nor am I set up to try and do the mounts on one of these. Anybody know a shop they can recommend in Birmingham? Looking at doing motor trans mounts + the lower harness soon and trying to plan for the $.
If Klink is too far I would give PTL Auto & Tire a call. They are on Huffman Road and Parkway East and have been keeping my parents cars on the road for years.

Know the guys at PTL well and they are close to me as I live just up the road in South Roebuck. You from here man??
Klink is not far but paying dealer $ on both parts and labor for this one would I suspect be quite UGLY!

Perhaps, but I can tell you from personal experience, nothing beats the peace of mind of knowing that the job was done correctly (if the Colonel did it himself as in my case) or under his direct supervision (more likely). Plus if anything did go wrong, think of all the future opportunities to bust the Colonel's chops. That alone would be worth some coin IMHO!

Would love to be able to but health issues make it unwise.
I suffer from this http://shelf3d.com/i/ankylosing spondylitis so twisting around and pulling on my back as I would have to doing this job in the driveway would put me down hard for a while!!

Sorta. My parents moved there in 98 and I was there for my senior year of High School (Parkway Christian) and we know Tim Wilson since he and his wife go to the church where my dad is pastor (Mt Calvary Presbyterian)
They always did good work on my family's cars but none of us drove a Mercedes at the time.
My car came with "a Klink" in Sarasota (although I find the combination of Rex and Klink to be quite a blessing) or else it wouldn't be my car, to be honest. Picking up a rare 20+ year old car that most have never seen or heard of, just leaves one at the whim of things I'd rather not be at the whim of. I get the sense there are a few in SoCal, judging by the number of these cars out there. I'm sure someone at Fletcher Jones in Irvine knows what's up with these things. No?
maw
P.S. I'd be remiss if I didn't add, however, that being on this site preceded the car, Rex, and Klink for me. The car was covered so extensively here by GVZ, GSXR, Jono, Jelmer, Glen, etc., that I felt like I had enough "support" to wade through the project. My car was "young" and pristine, but I managed to make a project out of it anyway, the way I think any 20+ year old car of this stature should be.
Remember That Jono has Saturday hrs- if you are needing an excuse to go to Hotlanta.
Is the record store still in little 5 points? The Jamacian chain in Atlanta is quite good. Best mexican food I've had in ages was someplace close to Jono's shop.
