New Pricing -- Shocks

Just looked on Parts.com and they have rear shocks for $319 plus shipping now. I think before the new pricing, they were closer to $400. Might be time to deal with those rear end decaying bushing squeaks.

Mark, have you (or anyone else) ordered from Parts.com recently? They have the best prices I can find but their system appears to charge a flat 12% S&H fee. I didn't want to enter my credit card info to find out if there was still a "Freight-Quote" option at checkout like there was years ago.

Side note - I can't get the 500E rear shocks to come up at Parts.com at all (p/n 124-320-42-13). The old number (124-320-34-13) turns up at $319 though. Hmmm.... need to have a dealer verify which part number is current / orderable. If it's the -42-13 number, that will be ~$369 at parts.com (plus S&H).

UPDATE: Current part number is 124-320-42-13, new MSRP is $535 each, up from $494 in 2014. Probably $400-$430 from most of the online discount dealers.

Figures, I bought new SLS shocks for the high miler last year...

Which part number is current / valid? 124-320-42-13 or 124-320-34-13?

:?:

I haven't bought from Parts.com in the last 18 months or so, so I don't recall how they work out the shipping cost. I have, however, ordered from Husker, who tend to have the same pricing and on anything over a hundred bucks or so, they call and discuss the shipping.

As for the p/n, I just did a car-specific search and went to the suspension section.

Edit - just checked Husker, part 124-320-42-13 is $352.

OK, that solves the mystery. The -42-13 is the new number, and the price is higher. Current MSRP is up to $535 each, up from $494 in 2014. Victor's price at $357 is probably the best you are going to find anywhere.

Mark, don't trust Husker pricing at the moment - they have NOT yet updated to the Jan-2016 pricing on their website. Very likely they will contact you after the order is placed to tell you the amount will be different (higher). Most all the Trademotion sites have the new pricing now, dunno why Husker is 2 weeks late with their update. Pretty sure their price will be ~$375/ea after the update.

pm me your zip to quote shipping cost. parts coming on next day on my warehouse, if order before 12, orders after 12 pm coming in day after, then will be shipped to the customer. Some parts for 500e special orders and being delivered from Germany and takes longer.

I guess I didn't do too bad then. I paid $360 each, no tax or shipping from Lionel back in June 2015.

Yup, considering the price went up ~8% for this year, $360/ea was a great deal. If anyone needs shocks, I don't think you're going to find anyone that can beat Victor's pricing.

BTW - the shocks are bare shocks, no mounting kit included. If you want to replace the bushings, also order p/n 124-320-03-56, quantity 2, these are $50 MSRP now.

Thanks to Victor & Marcus for doing some detective work!

You can also order the bushings individually. You don't have to buy the whole kit.

This is all detailed in my HOW-TO article on the replacement of the rear SLS hydro-legs. It's in the HOW-TO section of the forum.

Cheers,
Gerry

Parts.com is just a website. They send orders to a Mercedes dealer somewhere in USA which actually fulfills your order, and the parts ship from the dealer to you. Years ago, MB of Naperville was the MB dealer behind the parts.com storefront. I'm not sure what MB dealer fulfills parts.com orders today. Parts.com currently has the best pricing you will find online ANYWHERE... but they appear to change a flat 12% shipping fee on all orders, which may erase some or all of the savings.

If anyone has used parts.com recently, say within the past 6 months, please let us know what dealer you received your parts from!

Good point. If your hardware is all clean and not corroded, the bushings alone are cheaper:

124-326-03-68 - $11.50 MSRP (2 needed)
201-326-18-68 - $5.00 MSRP (2 needed)

thanx Dave
Do you know if this is a USA order only....as maybe the dealer would say "no" to send parts to a country which HAS a dealer already?

If those prices above are from parts.com, its not cheapest. www.mercedespartoutlet.com is the website for MB Gainesville.

RUBBER BUFFER
Make: Mercedes Benz | Part#: 1243260368List Price: $12.10
Your Price: $8.13 Did I mention no shipping? message is do your homework and consider tax and shipping where applicable. :D

As mentioned in the other thread... MB Gainesville hasn't updated their prices yet for 2016. Don't trust what you see on the site, your final invoice may be higher or lower. I'd wait until they get the new prices loaded. And, their "list" price is not MB USA list, it's a fake list price that Gainesville makes up to make their discount look bigger. Not saying you shouldn't buy from them, just be informed about their pricing inaccuracies at the moment...

Louis, you should call them and ask when they're gonna get their prices fixed. In the meantime, ask them if you can still get one of those 500E front bumpers for $912 with free shipping, yo!! (Everyone else is showing $2200... oh, and it's NLA.)
