Number of B1 spring

Does anyone know the part number of the Mercedes. Springs B1? Which is located in the valve body..

Alternatively, if anyone knows the numbers of all the springs and pistons, in the picture. The EPC can not find them.

Kamil

I don't think MB sells the springs separately. I've never seen valve body internal springs in the EPC anywhere.

Certain springs are available separately (i.e., the K1 'upgrade' spring kit) but for the rest, MB wants to sell you a complete valve body. Klink or Clark may be able to confirm this...

Greetings, Kamil! What condition are you trying to address? We may be able to offer more assistance if we know.

As you may already know, all of the springs for the flip valves, one way restrictors, check valves, etc. at least have assigned part numbers. Availability varies and that is just as well, as they are almost never needed.

None of the parts that you have circled (pressure timing accumulator springs) are directly available separately. A firmer modification version of the spring set for the K1 (2-3 upshift) accumulator is available as 126 270 44 77, and I would use that set without hesitation whenever I had one of these apart, as the K1 clutch takes a beating in these cars and a little extra firmness helps, even if you have new parts inside clutch K1. In some cases, piston design permitting, I will use some of the tighter springs that I removed from the K1 accumulator in the K2 accumulator, thereby also firming up the 3-4 upshift.

Accumulator spring and piston parts that may be able to be mixed and matched to effect a repair in the event that you have broken springs may still be available as the following part numbers, but please note!! These are bulletin repair parts for the smaller transmission in this family know as the 722.4. They use very similar, but not identical valve bodies. Here are the part numbers with the accumulator they are noted for in (). Note that these will not necessarily fit your valve body in the configuration noted by (). This is only a possible way to get new accumulator springs and pistons that you may be able to use!
124 270 00 35 (for B1), 126 270 02 35 (for B1), 124 270 12 77 (for K1), 126 270 03 35 (for K1), 126 270 04 35 (for K2), 126 270 05 35 (for K2).

As of the morning of 07/03/14, all of these part numbers were readily available in stock at MBUSA and at reasonable prices, except for the part #124 270 00 35, which is available, but inexplicably at about 3 times the price of the others. Check your local pricing because as always YMMV!

I will add more if / as I find them.

If I may repeat Kamil, please post the condition that you wish to change, as most of these parts are seldom needed for repairs or maintenance.

In case anyone is trying to fix a 2-3 flare with the K1 spring, it won't really help. I have a 2-3 flare on my E300D and I replaced the K1. Although the shift itself definitely got firmer, the flare remained, basically unchanged. I have been living with it for at least 100K now, and I obtain "normal" shifts by backing off the throttle at the shift point, almost like a manual trans. So the flare does not necessarily mean the end is near, however I admit it is annoying.

For sure, if you have a true shift "flare" something is broken, worn out, mis-assembled, mis-adjusted etc... That particular spring kit will absolutely firm up a somewhat slurry 2-3 upshift, especially in the upper-middle load range on an otherwise good trans behind a M119, and on many other models similarly afflicted as well. Since we're on the topic, what is the year and mileage of your E3D? I may have ideas...

For issues with flaring or stacked shifts, check out the Superior spring kits... just be warned the instructions are rather poor if you don't live & breathe valve body internals.

Got any links, or just Google them up? I figured that there had to be some good aftermarket stuff out there catering to tranny shops...

There is a long, detailed thread on the Fruitbird forum (Peach / Pelican), with good info mixed in... but anyway, teaser shots below. Superior hints that you need to install everything, however this is generally NOT a good idea... just install the springs which affect the particular shift you are having problems with. It may not fully cure the problem but it can help significantly, and it's sure worth a try before shelling out for a replacement tranny!

The Superior gas kit works fine with the late 722.3 transmissions as well (I think 1995-96 was the last model year in USA?). If you consider the factory K1 upgrade a "stage 1", the Superior kit offers both a "stage 2" and "stage 3". The 722.3's tend to have the most issue with the 2-3 upshift and I've had to use the stage 2 or 3 springs from Superior a couple of times now. Remember not to install any springs you don't really need.

Link to Fruitbird thread - enjoy!

Some good info & photos here:
https://korandovod.ru/forum/topic/27839-ремкомплекты-гидроаккумуляторов-k1-k2-b1-для-7223/

Note these are all designed for the 722.4 transmission so although the plastic pistons/accumulators may be correct (assuming the part number embossed is identical), the springs may NOT be correct for an M119 application.

Still no part number for the M119 B1 piston/accumulator, which is red plastic, p/n embossed is 126-277-77-32. I'm not sure if that specific one is available separately.
