Tonight I did a lot of tweaking to the board:
- added a number of "smilies" for people to use in their posts (and more will be added over time)
- added a few new forums
- expanded the "members only" section which is visible only to registered members. This will contain a lot of value-added information. Unfortunately most of my E500E archives are packed away in boxes waiting for the day when we buy a house and move in (probably will be next spring)
- worked in defining user groups for different levels of folks: i.e. moderators and admins, senior members, new members, etc. Generally folks who were active contributors or had a long-time presence on Scott's board will have full privileges on this site.
- added some special codes that folks can use in their posts to help format them: for example:
---> the ability to embed YouTube videos in posts by using [youtube ]VIDEO URL[ /youtube]
---> the ability to center text in a post by using [center ]TEXT TO BE CENTERED[/center ]
---> the ability to left or right justify text in a post by using [left ]TEXT[/left ] and [right ]TEXT[/right ]
---> the ability to use specific fonts by using TEXT YOU WANT IN FONT[/font ]
---> the ability to add color background to a post by using [background=COLOR WANTED]TEXT[/background ]
I'll provide more updates as I make them. Some of my next efforts will go toward bringing the Wiki up, and making the archives live to the large collection of the scanned PDF articles. I will also add a link to a gallery of high-resolution factory photos of the E500E. Lastly, I will set it up so that the image at the top of the page rotates randomly between several different images, which will make it less boring to look at over time.
