Opinions on Running 9" Monoblocks All Around

Assuming the correct offset, it would be fine. A "square" setup is actually preferable from a handling standpoint since our cars naturally understeer.

Has anyone ever had this setup? 9" Monoblocks on the front as well.
Thoughts?

I ran a set of the AMG Monoblock II 18x9 wheels front and rear on my 500E for a short time with 265/35/18 tires. I cannot seem to find the pictures on my computer.

I run a square 18x8.5 setup with NO spacers that looks and feels "right" to me -- no rubber hanging outside the wheel wells, etc. Mine is a 18x8.5 replica of this wheel. http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/me...lass_124_alloys/17_mercedes_alshain_wheel_606

I've considered going with a wider, lower profile tire at times, and I am thinking to go 255/35/18. Tire Rack confirmed the rolling revolutions for me earlier. What would you do, buy 2 sets of rears?

I actually think it would make the understeer worse, not better -- more grab at turn in doesn't seem like what you're looking for. For comparison, I'm running 19x8.5 square on the Allroad, and the 19's on the M3 and S55 are both 8.5 fronts, 9.5 rears. See this for the Brabus fitments, the 2-piece was 9.5"...http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/mercedes_alloy_wheels/e_class_124_alloys A lot of the 17" fitments, even the AMGs were 7.5" square...http://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/mercedes_alloy_wheels/e_class_124_alloys

So 18x9 strikes me as a bit extreme on the front of this car.

Good luck.

would love to see!
i'm curious if it looks strange having that thicker lip from the 9" rims up front as well.

I've considered going with a wider, lower profile tire at times but I can't because the wheel isn't wide enough. 9" would fix that, but I also wonder if you could get the offset correct on a 9" wheel. What would you do, buy 2 sets of rears?

yes exactly.
i know sheward is running a 9" setup all around (that's where i got the idea...)

I have front 18x8 225/40 and rear 18x9" 245/35 ET35 and it sure feels good to drive and also looks normal.

Before that I tried 18x8,5"/18x9,5" W220 AMG wheels with ET4x something with and without 25mm spacers - it was awful to drive compared to the correct wheels and ET I have today ;)

My bud Al (RIP) ran 18x9s with et31 with 255s...rode fine, no rubbing and looked boss

Just to add....Al originally ran 265s but they rubbed ever so slightly on the insides under heavy suspension travel...
