Very few people like OE chromed but personally I do like them. Chromed OE wheels reminds me califonia back that time in 90-s.

The car is finally about to leave LA for the final voyage to Oregon. Supposed to be picked up this evening, so it might actually be home by the weekend.

Looks great Ken love the 040 color and you just made it come alive !

What other plans so you have for it ?

I have several parts on order from MBCC. Front seat cushions, euro orange front blinkers, and rear mud flaps.

Ok, I thought you were slipping in a Honcho-patented Chain Yank there.

You mean the "paddles" that snap into the rear bumper edge behind the rear wheels. Spendy little boogers, so make sure they give you an audible "click" when you install them, so that they don't fall off again. You may need to take a small flat-blade screwdriver and clean out the slot in the bumper that they fit into.

Those are not mud flaps, I wanted to see him install the mud flaps.

Maui Google search W124 Mud Flaps and you will see

Its been said those are 500 specific, but I pulled a pair from an e420 and they snapped right in. Saved me a ton of $$$ (I don't think the yard even charged me)......

Does anyone have the part number for the paddles? I want to make sure I'm getting the paddles and not the traditional mud flaps.

I believe the part numbers are 124 885 15 23 (driver's / left) side and 124 885 16 23 (passenger / right) side.

Yes, you ordered the correct bumper/fender liners. Although I did kinda want to see your car with mud flaps.

My car was missing those panels and when I installed them they did not seem sturdy. I stuck a small strip of double sided tape on the leading edge of the panel that slid into the bumper on the back side (the side facing away from the tire) and its been in there solidly for 3-4 years now.

Very nice model, very nice color too, same color as my 1994 E500. Happy for you!

Ken,

Congrats, that looks like a beautiful example. Is the interior black or brown?

Ken,

Your MB W124 disease seems to be metastasizing at a rapid pace.....

A good strategy to slow that down would be V/C126 acquisition....

Congratulations!

:wahoo:

Cheers,
Gerry

Yes I have an addiction. I haven't decided yet if I am going to swap in my black interior. The black wagon will be sold though to make room and I will continue my quest for THE wagon. I am also constantly watching the ads for a 560SEC. :nobmw:

Black leather in that wagon would be unspeakably good...
