Painting Front Bumper

Attempting my first attempt at rattle can painting - at least a large piece in contrast to the smaller ones I've done (wiper delete panels, tow hook cover, etc.).

How many cans of rattle can paint should I plan for on a front bumper, the strip, license plate delete, tow hook cover? I'm not planning to clear since it's lower cladding matte/gloss.
Is Tower still a good source? I read somewhere in 2012 where their formulation had changed, for the worse?

This is for the 124.092, but I realize it applies to the 036 so I'm posting here.

Robert:

I just did similar for my new wagon. I used a water based paint, in my car Marble grey for the front bumper and I used 2 cans of paint. I followed with a matte clear coat which was solvent based at the recommendation of my paint source. I will attached some pictures later but I got some pretty decent results.

I sprayed outside and then quickly rolled the bumper into the building as I do not have access to a paint booth.

Awesome,

I had not seen a matt finish in a spray can until now. Thanks!! FYI, I know you can get a gloss high solids 2k clear in a can from Galasuritt (sp?).

So I'm loooking today- I only seem to find the #1 u-pol clear in Gloss.

Can you please give a p/n for the mat finish clear coat you used?

My mistake on the original posting. U-Pol only makes a gloss clear. My contact at The Paint Store in Laguna Niguel, CA suggested I use SEM Low Luster Clear Part #13023

I was concerned that is is for interior use, but I was told it is commonly use for exterior applications.

Jeff

Jeff that is good for the application you mention and for door cards or handles etc. I have found for interior after a paint cure that a good dose of aerospace 303 is a good protectant for the recently cured interior painted plastic/vinyl/tex.
