Please tell me about the brake fluid tank.
My car is a late model. After ordering the brake fluid tank
I received 0004300902. Currently, 0004300502 is installed on the car body.
The overall shape is the same, but the 0004300502 has a float construction and a rubber cap. The rubber cap part of 0004300902 is completely sealed.
Also, there is a part to connect a thin hose in front of the tank, but 0902 is clogged. Is this cut and used? Please tell me the details.

Can you post the last 6 digits of your VIN? There is a break point on the parts for late-build E500's.

Hmm. The EPC indicates that 0004300902 is correct for the car (screen shot below).

If there is no thin hose at the front of the tank on your car now, you should leave it sealed on the new tank.

Thank you for your confirmation.
The thin hose of the old tank is connected to a place like a motor under the master cylinder.
I don't know what this means, but is it okay to cut it like an old tank?

The hose fitting on the bottom of the brake fluid reservoir would be used to connect to the ASR pump which would be mounted below the master cylinder if you had one. I would presume that Mercedes has changed to a brake fluid reservoir that works in multiple applications rather than ones that are unique.

Dan is correct. Cut the new tank and use a new hose to attach there. I didn't catch the hose in your original photo, ooops.

I would also take the opportunity to replace the hose when you remove the tank. It's probably the original hose and quite brittle.

Thanks guys. Cut the new tank to fit the original tank. Also, if you remove the hose, it may be damaged, so we will prepare a new hose in advance. Thank you very much.

Thank you for the other day. I was a little worried, so please let me know. Need an air bleeder to replace the tank with a new one? The procedure is to aspirate liquid from the old tank before replacing the tank, install the new tank without touching the brake pedal at all, and fill the new tank with liquid.

Yes, you will need to pressure-bleed after replacing the tank. Since your car has the late master cylinder with switchover valve Y61, there are additional steps required in the bleeding procedure. I've never done this since USA-spec cars did not have valve Y61.

Thank you for the details. I did not know.
I don't have an SST like the manual, so I would like to remove the coupler connected to the Y61 and connect the wiring directly to the Y61 terminal.
At that time, is it okay to connect one of the two wires of Y61 to terminal 30 and the other to the ground of the ABS unit?
Also, as a procedure
1. Ignition off
2. Connect the created harness to Y61 (terminal 30 and ground).
3. Apply 2 bar pressure to the tank
4. Drain the liquid from all calipers until there are no bubbles.
5. Connect the original harness to Y61.
After this, the ignition is turned on and the bleeding from the SP valve of the ABS unit is not described in the manual. Do you need it?

If there are no problems currently, I'd leave it alone for now. Note the documents imply that the SST is needed for "bleeding", but not for "fluid replacement". I don't quite understand why.

Thank you very much.
Actually, I emptied the breeder tank the other day.
Next holiday, I will energize Y61 and try to bleed.
Thank you very much.

Hello. I'm always indebted to you. What is the brake? My E500 is made in Europe, so I had gsxr tell me that the master cylinder of the brake is a Y61 valve.Special air pulling is taught the instruction manual and finished safely.Braking without problems. However, there were times when I felt that the braking force suddenly went up, and I felt that the brake touch was a little soft (the stroke was a little deep), so I removed the Y61 coupler as a test.(There is no problem without air at more than 500 cc per wheel, and the depth does not change even if you step on the brake pedal immediately, so I think that there is no air contamination.)When the coupler of Y61 is removed, the meter lights up due to ABS and ASR errors, but the softness of the brake touch and the depth of the stroke become shallow and dramatically improved. The softness is no longer there, and the braking force is up.According to the manual taught by gsxr, the before and after ratio of the E500 in Europe has been changed from the standard 74.3:25.7 to 65.6:34.4.In addition, in the case of 1.ABS error 2.If the lateral acceleration exceeds 0.4G, it is written that it will be returned to the standard.Personally, when I remove the Y61 coupler, the feel of the brake is very good, so I want to remove the coupler from the Y61 valve of the vehicle, prepare a dummy Y61 valve instead, and attach the coupler to the dummy. Please tell me two points.According to other information, the piston diameters were 1 and 13/16.Does that mean the master cylinder will change to 1 or 13/16? I would like to ask you another question, will the distribution increase only in the rear when the valve ON of the Y61 is on? Or will the front allocation be reduced and the rear allocation increased? (I couldn't understand how it worked when I looked at the instructions.)
