Porsche concept car from 1991?

Hi Trae,

This article is about the current "special exhibit" at the Porsche Museum in Zuffenhausen ... a display of Porsche concept cars that they did over the years. Including protos of the Panamera. I just visited and saw all this not two weeks ago....

I didn't take any photos of any of the secret protos but here is an "overview" photo I took with my phone inside the Museum there.

Cheers,
Gerry

I was reading about the 1991 989 Study/slide #8: Porsche’s original plan for a front-engined, four-door, V8-powered “family sports car” came about in the early '90s with this concept. It was intended to go on the market by the mid-90s, but the development and potential production costs skyrocketed and so the idea was ditched, for the time being, before being revived as the Panamera.

Porsche was in pretty dire straits at the end of the 1980s and early 1990s, which undoubtedly had a fair amount to do with the decision to delay that four-door sports car concept.
