Thanks @JeffSpicoli (Tony)!

Great to hear. Yes, would love to see it. My parents are in Delray and I'm often there...except since November and things locked-down pretty hard for me for various reasons. Will reach out when I'm planning my next trip down as I'd love to see it and hear of your experiences.

Thanks for keeping us all posted and I'm truly glad to hear you're so happy with the work.

So last weekend I had time to give it a wash and snap a few pictures. The paint job is nothing short of perfect. The only thing off was the headlight washers which went out of whack when I washed the windshield. I've since adjusted them. Anyways, on to the pics!

Obligatory car wash photos! Yes I even wash it myself

No, I'm not considering giving up my job to become a photographer... The pictures really don't capture the depth of shine that they got out of the car. It's just like so much glass. I'm over the top happy with the job.

These were some of the trouble areas, and everything is as new.

When we started the journey, it was just going to be some rust repair and maybe some select painting. As it turned out, we ended up with more or less a full out exterior restoration. It's completely rust and blemish free and got a new windshield while it was in there too.

After talking with Jim at McHughes Automotive, we decided to leave the (new) chrome strips on the (new) grill as chrome to give some contrast and it really does look nice imo.

I'm so happy to have it back. Need to sort a few minor mechanicals out and the baby will be ready for the next 25 years!

I did forget, it hasn't been all smooth sailing. On our first drive in our town (we took it out of town once), someone threw a rock at our windshield and chipped it. It's very minor, but I can see it and I know it's there. Not sure why that occurred but it doesn't do much for my feelings about humans.

An then the day after washing it, I open the garage and find this:

He really didn't want to leave. The car wasn't even on, nor had it been on to warm the engine. I guess it was warmer than the floor. It was a bit chilly the day I found him.

Your baby looks fresh from the factory, Tony. Thanks so much for posting. Very impressive and I will stop by McHughes next time I'm in SoFL.

Thx!

Bob
