Removing Wood from Center Stack & Console

Greetings.

I am looking to remove the cracked and aged wood on the center stack and console, going from the radio down to the window switches, before sending to Madera. I have a '92.

While I've searched the forum for step-by-steps/hints to removing, I either haven't looked well enough or perhaps they're buried in threads I've missed.

That said, are there any suggestions or links I have missed?

Thanks for your thoughts.

Bob

Bob, I’m not sure about the wood by the radio, but to remove the horizontal piece with window switches, start by removing the center roll top box. There are 2 screws in tbe inside of the box near that front, that once removed, allow the box to lift right out. With the box out, you’ll see the screws holding the wood trim in place. Remove those and then the wood can be tilted forward. The switches can stick in the wood, so you can either try pressing them out while lifting wood, or lifting the wood and pressing them out after.

IslandMon, that's very helpful, thank you. I saw our friend Lowman's YouTube video on this, which was helpful...I had not realized that the box had to come out first.

Jlaa, you've shamed me well. I don't know what I did not enter in my searches to see the second one listed as that's the obvious answer. Will review all.

Thanks very much to you both.

Bob
