Do they make a replacement rubber gasket for this style gas cap? Whether MB or something that works.
Found one in really nice shape at Pn'P but the seal is toast, kind of a shame to buy a new one just because of the seal...

I have found a bunch online but not sure which would be the correct one without having them in hand... Kind of look like the universal 2" style

Yup, the nicer metal cap will use either of the part numbers mentioned above. I also like the fancy blue gasket speedy mentioned above, ~$11 from discount dealers. Should never have to replace it again.

The cap currently on the car is cheap aftermarket, not OEM. Tip for the proper cap you picked up - it has a fancy locking mechanism. Turn gently with your fingers until it clicks, but DO NOT tighten further, this can damage the plastic mechanism. The cheap/thin cap doesn't have this.

Thank you Gents! Yea I could tell how it clicks like you mentioned, which is a much nicer feel than the aftermarket one on there now...
another small upgrade in the books :)

Just for some information. I replaced my cap 4 years ago and the seal is already cracked. So I would recommend replacing only the seal if the cap is fine. Of course I bought brand new original part.

Try the (expensive) Blue seal, it should last longer than the standard Black seal. The cap itself should never wear out if undamaged.
