So the benz needs new shocks and springs all around :wheelchair: . I like having the car sit lower so I've been looking into ordering myself some Koni yellow's front/rear and a set of H&R springs.

front koni's-

I'm assuming I cant come across rears because it would be the same as the other w124s. (?)

then the good old h&r set-

Before I proceed with payments, I was wondering if any of you guys knew of any other solid set ups, experience with Koni yellows on a w124, or had any other suggestions to look into.

Thanks-

That is an error in their catalog. The rear KONIs are the same as all other 124's without SLS (p/n = 26 1198Sport ).

I'm personally not crazy about H&R springs but that is one option. Another option is to get the factory 400E Sportline springs, although those may cost a bit more.

:seesaw:

Awesome, i'll check into my local MB dealer and check out the price. Also with the H&R springs, am i wanting to look into the 500E ones since the front is a bit more heavier with the v8 engine...?

The 500E has SLS and the rear springs are SLS-specific. So those won't work unless your 400E has optional SLS (which isn't likely, if it's North American spec).

:wormhole:

I think the spring difference for SLS versus none-SLS is about 10mm, except from that the springs have the same spec; same wire dia, same number of turns etc.. Due to the support from the pressurized SLS hydraulic the springs are made a bit shorter. So if you buy SLS-springs for a none-SLS car, you have to play with the spring pads to compensate and find the wanted height. Normally is the stock height on the W124 a tad too high anyway.
