Tutorial on replacing egr valve 92 400e

It's pretty simple, just unbolts. However the valve is NLA.

EGR valves are not a common failure, more often the intake tube gets plugged, or vacuum system isn't sending a signal. Which is why you couldn't find much info on replacement, very few (if any?) people have actually done this.

Where exactly is it located?

You can find information and photographs about removal and re-installation of it in my Top-End Refresh thread in the Project Journals sub-forum.

Top/center/forward on the intake manifold. If you're asking where it is... you probably haven't traced out and tested all the vacuum tubing for leaks. Nor tested the EGR valve itself by applying vacuum with a MityVac. Need to do all that first before replacing your existing valve (that might be fine) with a used one (that might be defective).

Gerry's in-famous top end rebuild thread will have photos and more details.

Yes your correct, but first step is to locate it I’m very familiar with Mercedes diesels, not v8.

The EGR valve is clearly shown on the front/top of the M119 intake manifold in the two threads I linked to above. As I remember it, it is in the front left corner of the intake manifold, as you are standing in front of the car, looking down at the engine.
