Revival - Death to Fuel pumps

After more than a decade I awoke my W124.036. Initially it just needed a battery to get the engine running, but after about 10k, the engine died. Having the car towed to the carshop, the diagonostics were straight forward, both fuel pumps dead. As the fuel-gauge refused to work as well, I inspected the fuel tank. I can only recommend to you to regular run your cars or release the modern fuels when in long storage. Below the fuel level sensor.

WOW. That is the nastiest tank sending unit I've ever seen, in a petrol tank!
